  • South Tamilnadu roadtrip via a 2 wheeler

    Hi All,

i have planned a trip for tamilnadu south.
i will be travelling alone and via a two wheeler.
i prefer day travelling and 4 lane roads for faster travel time.
i would like to have cheap staying places for the nights.

    below is my ride plan.

day 1: early morning may be by 4am start from chennai and to reach kanyakumari for sunset, roam locally in kanyakumari and stay night in kanyakumari (i would like to have route options and cheap stay at kanyakumari)

day2: sunrise, thiruvalluvar statue, vivekanda rock and then i will be till 4pm in kanyakumari(so suggest any places in and around considering my timeline), after 4pm start to rameshwaram. suggest a place to stay for the night.

day3: roam around in rameshwaram(suggest me the places where i can see till 4 pm in the evening) and then start to madurai. then night stay in madurai (suggest a place to stay)

day4: madurai temple, and local places till 4pm and then start to trichy. night stay in trichy and suggest me a place for night stay in trichy.

day5: just malakotai temple and start to tanjore and then brahadheshwar temple and start travelling to chennai again without any stay.

for the above plan, i would like suggestions for best route options as well as stay places. suggest me the better option if i had missed any. i cannot elongate any extra days so timeline is very important here even if i miss some important places in the region.

language wont be a barrier as i am a tamil guy.

this is not about the places or temple, its about the ride with my bike and first time visit to these places, so i would like to have most memorable and comfortable journey. i mentioned lot of temples above bcoz those are the monument places and a must see for those places as far i know.

this is my first ride, so wish me luck as well... just to mention, i am riding with my Pulsar RS200...

    thanks in advance...

    regards,
    Raghav SSR

Do go through my travelogue of South India which I had done a couple of months ago.

My suggestion is that if your intention is about the ride rather than temple sightseeing, you should head for the hills. Most of the places that you have mentioned above are temple towns and won't offer you much in terms of riding pleasure. I wish you a safe ride in whatever you eventually decide.
