    Delhi to bangalore

    Hello members of xBHP. I'm glad to be a part of this forum.
    Guys I'm planning a solo road trip from New Delhi to Bangalore. This is my first bike trip and that too a solo one. But I'm really excited to do this. I would love to get any help from you guys. Please suggest me the best routes possible and what all can I do on the way. Time is not a problem I have 20-25 days. Im also thinking to travel ahead from Bangalore. Haven't really decided where to go yet. Some suggestions on that would also be a great help.

    That is an ambitious ride for a first time. With a bit of caution and a level headed approach you will be fine

    Search the forum on tips to do long rides. MAX and The Art of Safe Riding will have those.

    Since you have quite a bit of time at hand, go from Delhi through Rajasthan - Gujarat and down the coast via Goa till you hit Mangalore. From there cut back inward to Bangalore. You will get a variety of terrain, food, traffic and properly experience a large chunk of the country!

    When do you plan to do this ride?
    Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      I'm planning to start this ride on 10th of August.
      I have been seeing on the news that their are problems in Gujrat highway due to the floods. So is it safe to go from there? Could you please also suggest me with places that I must visit during my travel?

          Well then you are going to get bucketloads of rain wherever you go! Carry good rain gear

          Lots of places to visit in India. First finalise your route, then you can tweak it for the places to visit. Also, depends on where your interest lies. In manmade structures, nature, catching up with families and friends etc. Lots of reasons to ride

            Well I'm preparing for the ride. Bought my bike yesterday. It's avenger 220. The route I'm planning to follow is Delhi- Kota- Omkareshwar - Pune - Goa - Mangalore - Bangalore
            Then I'll go ahead from Bangalore heading towards Rameswaram. Is this route fine?
            I guess nature is what gets me excited for riding my bike. I'm a little scared to as this the first time I'll be riding for such a long distance and that too alone.

              You have just bought your bike!!!

              When do you plan to run in the bike and get it serviced and ride it some more before you head out!

              The route is fine. Down south you will find some splendid roads and greenery at this time of the year.

                Yeah I used to ride before. But I sold it some time back. So I got a new bike yesterday. I'm planning to start my run on 10th of August. But I'll start riding from today itself so that I can get better.

                    I would not recommend going out right touring on a brand new bike. The few 1000 km is the very important for your bike and so is the first service. I do not know what the service schedule is for the Avenger but if I were you I would postpone this.

                      That's why I got a second hand bike so that the first service is done. It has been ridden around 8k kms so it's almost new.
