Been a lurker for a long time and finally a member.
Looking for some help and advice for my upcoming tour. In brief, it's two of us with me riding a TNT Benelli 300 and my friend a KTM Duke 200. The plan is to start from Pune on the 6th of Aug and do a circuit around Rajasthan and be back by the 15th of Aug.
The following is the route that we have planned:
6th Aug: Start from Pune in the Morning and Reach Surat by Afternoon - Evening. Stay in Surat.
Distance: 420 Kms
7th Aug: Start from Surat and reach Udaipur. Stay in Udaipur
Distance: 497 Kms
8th Aug: First half in Udaipur, we will probably visit the city museum/palace. Leave for Jodhpur by afternoon and reach Jodhpur:
Distance: 259 Kms
9th Aug: First half in Jodhpur, check out the Jal Mahal and Mehrangarh Fort. Leave for Jaisalmer by afternoon and reach Jaisalmer.
Distance: 286 Kms
10th Aug: Stay in Jaisalmer, visit the Golder Fort & Surrounding.
11th Aug: Visit in Sam, Khuri, Longewala. Stay in the desert.
12th Aug: Start early in the morning from Jaisalmer and reach Jaipur.
Distance: 558 Kms
13th Aug: Stay and explore in Jaipur.
14th Aug: Start from Jaipur and Reach Indore.
Distance: 567 Kms
15th Aug: Indore - Pune
Distance: 592 Kms
Both of us have done small tours previously but this would be the first time we embark on a 2+ day trip. The aim is to avoid riding too much during the night.
Any suggestions on decent hotels/places to stay at each location would be much appreciated. Along with route suggestions and roads to avoid. Both of us have been on a tour of Rajasthan previously and have seen most of it so we are not hard pressed on trying to cover each and every point of interest in every city.

But then a ride would be boring without some terrible roads
