I want to travel to India on bike from Nepal

Hello xBhpians ,
I know many riders in this group have done cross country ride from India to Nepal and other places.
I want to know what documents are necessary for Nepalese bikes to cross into India and what is the process?
I have heard its a very lengthy process.
Please help me if anyone have done that or anyone knows such mediator or agent!
