Hey guys this is Purna from Bombay and I have a solo ride planned to Kolkata on 11th May for my long term friends wedding. I'm planning to start around 6pm in the evening and hopefully reach by 13th evening or night. I ride a Suzuki Gixxer SF which has 4800 kms on the odo, recently serviced at 4500 kms. I have done 850 kms in a day and occasionally do breakfast rides of 200-400 kms. Last month did a 2000 km round-trip from Mumbai- Karnataka- Mumbai. How plausible do you guys think this Kolkata ride is? And since this is the 1st time I'm travelling this far alone I would like your valuable suggestions. I can't leave before 11th 6pm and can't reach later than 13th night; that's a restriction since the wedding is on the 14th. I'll be missing the pre-wedding functions and I will be free only at 11th after 5. I'm relatively fit and have no health issues. I've tried looking for travel logs for Mumbai to Kolkata but couldn't find any (maybe because I'm using a handheld device)

Mumbai - Nagpur - Raipur - Kolkata.

I plan to ride all night to Nagpur then rest for approx 4-5 hrs in the afternoon then ride and halt at Raipur for the 12th night and then continue from Raipur to Kolkata towards my destination on 13th.

Since the Gixxers light is pathetic at night I have to upgrade to a better bulb. Please suggest if any of you guys riding the Gixxer have found a better one. Plus I would add aux lights as well for added protection. Anyone added one to their Gixxer SF? Also what upgrades do you think I need. I'm thinking to upgrade the brake hose to a steel braided hose and maybe change the spark plug to a NGK iridium one and hazard lights. I'm running a properly broken-in stock bike. I ran out of engine oil on the Karnataka ride so I'll be carrying extra oil and oil filter. Anything else I need to carry? Beside the basics (toolkit, puncture kit, tyre pressure monitor and electric pump, etc)

Guys if you have any suggestions please do mention. Anything related to the route, things to carry, to keep in mind during the ride, recommended hotels for night stay, anything at all would be very helpful to me.

I understand it's approx 2000 kms and it's not recommended to cover that over a weekend but I have no choice because of the time constraints. I also plan to do a North India tour after the wedding since I'll already be in Kolkata but that's for another post.
