Please recommend me hotels/budget stay options on this particular route.

Have done most of these places in separate rides except Gulbarga and Bijapur.

You might want to check Badami caves and Pattadakal on the way to Hampi from Gulbarga.

If you wish to explore local cuisine along with sightseeing, I suggest leaving some places actually from your planned route as these many stops won't allow you to explore even one place as a whole. But if you are doing it just to be on the road, go ahead.

Also body rest is of the utmost importance. It does not matter what vehicle we ride, the type of roads, traffic and weather take a huge toll.

Just something I learnt over a period of time. Rest is upto you.

By the way, I am from Udupi.

Thanks for the advice mate. The itinerary has had some changes since I last posted this. I do plan on skipping out Bijapur and Gulbarga. Will instead divert from Hubli to Hampi and then down south. When you did do this ride, what were your pit stops like? Hotels, hostels or dhabas?

The goal is to explore more of the places and the roads that take me to them. Nice to know that your are from Udupi. We could plan a short ride if you are interested.
