    Front tyre for Pulsar AS200

    Hello all, am back after a really loooooong time 😅,. . Anyways I recently changed the rear tyre of my AS200 to a stickier MRF Masseter, because a 1" cut jus couldn't be fixed. . . So I'm now looking for a change for my front tyre as well, . . I want to know which tyre is the best one? I want a stickier tyre too, . . Let me know the options I have, . . Thanks in advance

      How would you say the Masseter is compared to your OEM fitment in terms of outright grip(dry and wet)? Why not go for the Masseter up front too?
      In any case, to answer your question, the OEM Zapper FY2 is pretty good both in the dry and the wet. In case you would like to splurge a little bit (and upsize) the Michelin Pilot Street is the best option.

        I find it way grippier and stickier compared to the stock Euroslip, . . One more point is that it really wants me to lean, though I am not trying much since the front is the same Euroslip and itz half-bald. . . Regarding the size, 130 isn't available in Masseter, so had to stick with 140, the tyre looks big from side view and also I guess it has increased the height a little as well. . .

        I'll consider the FY2 but how is the FC1? The 110-70/17 can fit I guess. . .

          The FC1 come as stock fitment on the Duke and RC 200. From what I've heard from the owners, the FC1 is really good in the dry. Like extremely good. But then which tyre isn't, right? A phenomenal dry grip is not what you're looking for unless you do track days, in my opinion. For me, the main criterion is wet grip. The FY2 come as OEM fitment on the R15, R15s, FZ and Fazer series and the Gixxer series. If you ride any of these bikes in the wet (I have, extensively), you'll be astonished at how well they grip the road in slimy conditions. The grip, believe it or not, just improves as the downpour gets worse. The braking though will be totally on your hands (due to the lack of ABS).


          Have you had the chance to ride on some wet roads on the Masseter? How soft would you say the tyre is?

            Well then I shall go with the FY2 then, for me I need a really grippy tyre for the front which can help me corner better and also for regular riding. . . Actually it hasn't rained here such that I can ride and feel the tyre in the rains, wil update you once I get to. . . The tyre feels good though. . .

              Just curious to know that if upsizing the front will cause any problem to me in terms of handling? If it is just the drop in pick up and increase the handling/stay the same, I am happy to go for it. . .

                I have come across reviews and views of a lot of credible and experienced riders with regards to tyres. The only thing common is their advise regarding changing tyres was not to upsize from stock. So, I went on extensive search to look for replacement of my stock Euroslips on my AS200. Few options:
                Front Tyres
                MRF FX1 100/80 17 (cheap)
                IRC RX-02/01 (Expensive)
                Michelin Pilot Street 100/80 17

                Rear Tyres
                Michelin Pilot Street 130/70 17
                Michelin Scorcher
                MRF Messeter (only if I get 130/70)

                Now, what would you guys suggest because you all are experienced and know about the ride and the changes take place when got new rubbers.

                    I would suggest the Michelin pilot street radial 110/70 r17.
                    Difference in size is minimal when compared to the stock eurogrips.
                    An odometer difference of 1.8 kms per 100 kms I am getting. This I am telling after several observations with another pulsar as200 of my friend with stock tyres. For every 100 kms in his bike, my bike's odo is showing 98.2 kms.
                    Now, about the performance- this tyre gives the best possible road grip compared to any bike tyres, except the Metzlers on duke 390.
                    Be it on dry hot roads or completely wet highway best possible grip.
                    Go for it with eyes closed and you will not regret..
