Re: MAF Masseter vs Michelin Pilot Sport
Great to know...Eurogrips and TVS Tyres are nothing great - they are simply meant for longer life...Have you tried a similar bike with MRF REVZ tyres (the ones that are usually on KTM Duke 200)..Hope Masseter are above REVZ series.Originally posted by vinitbuch View Post

I have ridden new duke, didn't know if they had mrf revz. Will try it out now.Originally posted by jeevan.chaukar View PostGreat to know...Eurogrips and TVS Tyres are nothing great - they are simply meant for longer life...Have you tried a similar bike with MRF REVZ tyres (the ones that are usually on KTM Duke 200)..Hope Masseter are above REVZ series.
Although from other's reviews Masseter seems to be better than revz. One reason why i got Masseters myself.

Re: MAF Masseter vs Michelin Pilot Sport
Duke 390 has Metzeler tyres (not sure but I think those are M5 Sportec) and they are really having strong grip (and shorter life of about 12000-15000 km depending on riding style). 200 and 250 has lower spec tyres. Unless one can compare KTM Duke 390 with Masseter vs same model with Metzeler, we would not know if the Indian brand has stepped up to international levels now.Originally posted by vinitbuch View PostI have ridden new duke, didn't know if they had mrf revz. Other option for good grip and fair life is Pirelli Rosso 3.
By the way - please definitely think carefully about what you want. If you want insane cornering grip and are an aggressive rider doing plenty of leaning (or want to learn such leaning) then don't think anything except Metzeler or Pirelli Rosso options.
For longer life there are many options and none of them will inspire as much confidence as the above under intense cornering that tests the limits of the person and bike both.Last edited by jeevan.chaukar; 10-04-2017, 11:11 PM.

Re: MAF Masseter vs Michelin Pilot Sport
Hi Everybody,
I have a Bajaj Pulsar 150 dtsi.
Currently clocked 1,04000 kms
I am looking to replace my tyres (existing Tyre Rear - MRF Zapper Q and Front - MRF Zapper FS).
The tyre are tube tyres.
Could you please help me in selecting the tyres ?
I need a tyres with good Grip on the corners and on the wet road.
Also, i heard about the new MRF Masseter Tyres (but they are soft compound)
Another question is can i go for Tubeless tyres ?
And does it going to effect my handling as well as the mileage ?
Or should i stick to the tube tyres?
Thanks,Last edited by sand_sat; 01-07-2018, 02:55 PM.

Re: MAF Masseter vs Michelin Pilot Sport
I'm at the edge to changing tyres. Bike is CBR is it's completed 25.5K. Both are stock contigo. I'm inclined towards Michelin for thread pattern + Brand repu + Good reviews, but on the other hand MRF do provide good grip as per fellow members here.
I will change both of the tyre and with Michelin that would cost almost 9K but with MRF the cost would get down to ~7K. Is it really worth to spend 2k more for Michelin for an average rider who do city and occasional highway rides(once in a month).
Moreover as per MRF site I didn't see Masseter of size 110/70 for CBR 250R, in that case I would have to go for Zapper or something else. How good it is as front tyre.

Re: MAF Masseter vs Michelin Pilot Sport
Masseter are good performing g tyres. I personally use it, both on highway and city it has stood up on its commitment. You won't find it as sticky as Michelin but it's never the less. With proper set of tyre on front and rear you will find it very confidence inspiring. After heat up the masseter perform good and being a bias ply you won't find any big difference until you do extreme cornering which I haven't tried yet. For daily trips and regular long rides it has proven to be very good. Just a negligible difference is felt compared to Michelin. If you have a budget and use the CBR for normal use go for Masseter.
For front - use MRF REVZ FC1. I am also planning to go for that. I am having a normal use for that FC1 is manageable. Or else you can go for Michelin for front. Just remember to use same pattern for a comfortable ride.

What's the difference between
Rear - 140/70-17 MSX
&
Rear - 140/70-17 MASSETER-X MCT TL*

If you have spoke wheels then there would be a problem. If it's the new mac wheels there shouldn't be an issueOriginally posted by sand_sat View PostHi Everybody,

Re: MAF Masseter vs Michelin Pilot Sport
I know this because I contacted mrf with the same doubt. Msx is bias ply. MCT is multi compound. MCT have, would be better.Originally posted by Vicky_New_Guy View PostI guess Masseter is available in radial as well now.
