    Up Sizing Tyres on Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220

    Hello Friends,

    Needed some advise on up sizing tyres on my Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220. The challenge I am facing is that while riding in rains some times it feels like bike is going to slip especially where road has fine dust particles or while riding on a dry road immediately after rains. As of now I drop my speed and it is easy to manage that way, but still feels a bit scary at times. I understand that up sizing will affect fuel efficiency, speedometer/odometer readings and I am fine with that. I want to know:
    1. If up sizing my front wheel address the safety concern?
    2. What is the max size I can up size to?
    3. Should I up size both wheels or it is enough to up size just front wheel?

    I have been reading a lot of articles/blogs around up sizing and they all give pros & cons, want to know if anyone out there has actually up sized their Avenger 220 Cruise wheels and what has been the experience like. Please advise.

    Upsizing tyres will not help with improved traction! Softer compounds, better tyres help.
    Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      Hello Monk. Thanks a ton for reply and please accept my apologies for a late revert. Have not been much active.

      In fact I did change the tyre size. Changed my front wheel form 90/90 17 to Ralco Speed Blaster 3.00 17 and rear from 130/90 15 to Ralco Speed Blaster 140/90 15. Did a 2000 Km Rajasthan trip and it turned out to be better. I will post a review seperately on Ralco but that's the closest that I could get to. It was an experiment that could have failed but turned out to be a success.

        Was it done on stock rim, also how much did it cost?

          Yes I did it on stock rims. I can't remember exact amount but I guess I paid around 5k for both tyres and tubes. They're still holding on and going strong.
