  • Tyre upgrade for Suzuki Access 125 (2017) - Suggestions please !!

    Hi All,

Its been a 18 Months since i had this lovely scooter, Suzuki Access 125 (2017) Disc brake model.. have completed abt 11K kms on it so far..The Ceat secura Zoom tyres that it came with, i feel is not so good and the scooter would really be better with better tyres..

    Here are the details

    Front 90/90 - 12 - Tubeless
    Rear 90/100 - 10 - Tubeless

    Have few queries..

    1) can i upsize my tyre? I don't mind if there would be a drop in the mileage.. If so, what are the options?..

    2) Does upsizing tyre have any effects on handling / cornering behavior?..

    2) Have read that softer compound tyres provide better grip, but won't last for a longer time.. Am not looking for a tyre with longer life span, but looking for something with superior wet & dry grip..

Most common roads would be some very good Village Panchayat roads, very good state & national highways..

    Appreciate your inputs..

113 views and still no suggestions , is that because it is a scooter?

      Awaiting inputs..

I just came across your query. Better late than never, so I'll let you know what I did.

I took delivery of my Access 125 two weeks back. Swapped the stock MRF Zappers to Michelin City Pro IND when the scooter's odo read 50kms. I've done 600 Kms till date and can say the tyres are grippy and are quite comfortable. Cannot comment on the MRFs because of no discernible experience with them. Try the Michelins, I think you'll be satisfied.

Pirelli also has scooter tyres, but not available for Access.

I also do own Access 2017 personally the Ceat tyres doesn't provide much confidence so replaced them at about 9000km with Michelin's.
Michelin's performed well better than Ceat or MRF in any condition whether dry or wet and you will feel confident too with them.
They are Michelin CIty Pro and there is no need to upsize.
One thing which a majority of people will tell about Michelin is that they have less thread life but they have pretty good thread life too mine have done 10000km till date and still have decent thread left.
Try Michelin you will not regret it.
