I am the victim of early worn out michilin PSR (rear) at shoulders. As early at 10k kms. I don't know how it happened. Dealer gave 2019 lot tyre. I maintained 36 psi pressure. (I ride with pilion most of the times).
Twice in a week, whenever ride was planned (even within 200kms). I always checked air pressure in the beginning and in next air check, it use to drop till 30 psi only. What I observed is, even after keeping 36 psi, bike rear end was slightly wobbling at corners.
Does it mean michilin PSR to be filled above 36 psi?
This is the condition of tyre @10k kms. Look how the nylon threads are peaking out at shoulders.
This situation came to know at launch break while riding to Tumkur. At most caution, I reached tumkur, attended the function and next day and went searching for MRF messeter tyre but ended up in MRF revz M. 140/70-17 size. Costed INR 3,350, 2020 lot.
I didn't bother to downsize the tyre spec as I need to switch to off road tyres on upcoming Nepal/Sikkim and northeast ride.
Now the topic is.. This tyre max load capacity is 270. kg as mentioned in it.
How to calculate the load on individual tyres. Because the bike wet weight itself 190+kg, myself 80 kg. Pilion and luggage will be again 80 kg.
Can I use this tyre for highway ride, say Manglore-Siliguri-Mangalore. At Siliguri, I am planning to switch the tyres and once the trip is complete, again at return leg I'll use this tyre to come back.
Sorry for long story.
Please bear with me.[emoji16][emoji16].
