Now lets take a look at Bajaj from a different perspective.

Rajiv Bajaj is a big fan of Ducatis.

Bajaj created the first gen Pulsar which reminds us of the Monster silhouette.

Ducati made the Multistrada, we have the P220,

Ducati made the streetfighter, we got the Pulsar 135LS,

Ducati made the Hypermotard, he is bringing in the KTM Duke 200,

Now it would not be too much to expect a street-cruiser mix because Ducati has launched the Diavel.

I hope Rajiv Bajaj liked the Japanese bikes. We could have had a fully faired multi cylinder bike till now.[Ninja250 is here]
The company products are direct representative of the owner's likes and dislikes.

New Bajaj Pulsar 180 coming-- source bajaj showroom

Hii guyzz,

today went to service center for my pulsar 180 UG4 Free service. there I was talking to the showroom guy and suddenly he said that new p180 is coming with the following

1) dual disc
2) monocross suspension
3) tail light like p135
4) body design nearly same ( a bit change though)
6) tyre guard like p135
5) price 76k-78- on road kolkata...
6) no idea when ...but its on d way

Don't know if its already been mentioned. Bike India (March issue) has article about the all new Pulsar 200 UG-V. This may be launched around December 2011.

Working alongside KTM, the bike is expected to be in line with the sharp lines of Pulsar 135 LS, Mono shocks, liquid cooled etc.

Interestingly, it also mentioned that a 250 cc version is also in queue for 2012, where the engine could be bored all the way up to 300 cc plus.

The fly in the oinment..it'll still be a single cylinder with SOHC, unlike the Duke's DOHC engine.

Seems to me, the CBR has kicked start a much needed kick in the local biking scenario.

If this happens then where does it get positioned,i bet the 200 will be as powerful as the 220.Does not make any sense at all.

I ve been waiting from dec last year after seeing the spy pics ,, for the NEW arrival of YAMAHA R15 my wait got heated up when AUTOCAR and OVERDRIVE jan edition confirmed its launch ,, but its march now and finally the BUDGET 2011 is also released. can any one give a fruitful info on the release of my BABY R1.

It cannot be just a knee jerk reaction to the CBR250R. One cannot expect an entirely new bike to be ready within a short notice of 12 months. It takes at least 2-3 years of prior planning to come up with a totally new lineup.

BS Motoring had carried an interview of Mr. Rajiv Bajaj in their Feb issue. In that interview there were clear indications that totally re-engineered Pulsars are being prepared which should be ready by this year end (to coincide with the completion of 10 years of Pulsar).

And in that interview itself he had mentioned that these Next Gen Pulsars will share quite a lot of engine parts with the KTM Duke that Bajaj & KTM are co-developing.

These Next Gen Pulsars are supposed to feature Liquid Cooling and 4 Valve cylinder heads.

What is it with service centre / sales people and their infatuation with dual discs anyway? I mean I have been told at least three time by three different showrooms of three different company people boasting of their future model featuring dual disk! Last one was at punjab honda Ahmedabad where the sales guy told me CBR 250 C-ABS means "Aage double disk brake aayega!" When I hopelessly tried to educate him what C-ABS and ABS means and even showed him his own broacher featuring 1 disk up front he replied smugly that "sir I am running the showroom so I know it better! Aaega tab dekh lena!"

and with all the testing going on... Can we expect to see it launched this april?
