Had been to a Hyosung Bangalore event yesterday, got talking to some people. 'They' said that they are aiming a ex-showroom price of right under 2L for the 250R, and yes the 250'R'

+1000Originally posted by nagoo View PostAgreed to an extent ..but still the price of Ninja and GT both are allmost equal all over the world ... where GT is priced lil less to Ninja..
if we apply same Here in India .. if on-road price is 2.5L ,.. then its makes perfect sense and a good buy.. remember now Ninja costs upwards 3.3L on-road in B'lore.
and also considering the revised ckd import taxes of Govt.. i still think its good amount..
but anything more than 2.8L OTR its better to wait for purchase and look towards localized one in next 3-4years.
over the last 3 years i accumulated enough $$ to purchase one .. but i can't go for Ninja ..as even though i have money i don;t want to spend 3+L on bike [personal view].. GT suits me well only coz of 3 reasons
1. it have enough power for long rides proven engine and ergonomics
2. Dashing look
3. good on fuel consumption [kitna deti hai] as i want to save environment
bottom line is if i am looking 50% for handling and power.. i want rest of the 50% in poser value .. [wt the use after spending this much money ...no one turns head on to ur bike
]
and also bike is constantly tested over the year all around the world .. and i don;t giv damn about top speed and some silly issues associated with it [better than currently available bikes in india]
Same feelings here

I hope they price it like that. Ex-showroom price of around 2 lakhs and on-road of around 2.2 lakhs should be fine. Hyosung priced their 650cc very competitively. I hope they do the same with 250cc.Originally posted by avinrichards View PostHad been to a Hyosung Bangalore event yesterday, got talking to some people. Also, I don't understand if their 650cc bike can cost 5 lakhs, then how can 250cc be around 3 lakhs? I know cost of bikes is not proportional to cubic capacity but still, a gap of only 2 lakhs between 250cc and 650cc does not seem logical to me.

Now that MG and SriKeerthi, otta be the news/scoop of the year for me! It kinda made my day. the repeated mails and calls to Honda and an hour long call with the HMSI PR lady seems to have been fruitful in the end.Originally posted by MG View PostSorry for the extra 'R'. Yes that is the one I'm talking about
The CBR600F could just be the optimal conjugation of the race bred 600RR supersports series with the nimble and practical CB600 series. And right from MCN, motocyclismo have been awed by its handling.
What about the other bike? Also, I had earlier read a report in which some senior board fellow has said that they are also looking for CKD sub 500cc bikes. so any hope for the CB400? (currently its sold in Japan and Aus).
I owe a treat to both of you!! do ping me when free and in B'lore!!
Thanks,

Will there be a market here if manufacturers strip-off the fairings and sell a street-naked version priced about 20% lesser than fully faired versions?
For eg, take Honda CBR250R, Yamaha R15, remove fairings, improve pillion comfort a bit, reduce the price, won't these sell well? I read somewhere here that a naked CBR250R is indeed planned by Honda.Grip. Twist. Ride-with Menacingly FAST Apache 180 ABS!
TVS Apache 180 ABS (Sep 2011-)
Yamaha Libero LX (Feb 2006-Sep 2011) sold

a lot bro because most of the Indian bikers love naked bikes...sales figures of FZ is an example, indian traffic conditions & our road qualities also prefer non-faired bikesOriginally posted by vineshp View Post+1
