Trust SHELL, nothing else
I am not a regular customer to Shell, I have no complaints about them, only thng is earlier they had a suction machine used for oil change (FREE
) now they do it manually. I felt that a full tank at Shell lasts longer than any other, and quantity is exact
I have got conned at
- IOC (Kammanahalli Main Road - near Ring road junction)
- HP (80feet road - subbanapalya - near Patel Public School)
- IOC (Banaswadi main Road - near Sri Ayyappa Temple Bus Stop)
- BP (Not sure about the name - the only one petrol bunk in that area near bus stop) Shivajinagar (Loots like a bandit)
5. THE DEADLIEST PETROL BUNKS ARE THE ONES AT TIN FACTORY BUS STOP (especially the one located on right side -when you are heading towards KR PURAM) Car guys get looted like anything, I had got filled a 7up 2litres bottle at 11pm and guess what was on the meter? 215Rupees
but he took only Rs.143 from me as I was aware of whats happening, lucky this time.
I dont trust any petrol bunk in Bangalore, except SHELL

As per my experience the best petrol pumps in Mumbai are:
1. HP - BKC (Its a COCO)
2. Indian Oil - Cargo Airport Road (Its a COCO)
3. Godrej - Vikhroli
4. HP - Airoli (Opposite Patni Computers)
The worst I have faced till date:
1. HP - Sakinaka (There are 2 HP petrol bunks and both of them are worst....I request you to never ever make an attempt filling from them)
2. HP - Vikhroli

No Buddy I have never filled from any bunk in Thane. But let me do some research online and check if I can find any iputs for you.Originally posted by kaynmantis View PostAny inputs for Thane? I always fill from "Babubhai Peetrol Pump (Bharat Petroleum)". Any comment on it, or other filling stations.
But the Airoli one is nice one & I can vouch for that. I used to fill up from Shell (right now its closed) previously but got same mileage as compared to HP Airoli.
But the ones in Mumbai which I have mentioned are the best one and cannot get anything better than that anywhere in Mumbai.

BP pump near Bamboo Bazaar seems good. Had filled couple of tank fulls for my RX there.
All said and done, apart from Shell everybody else seem to be a con job

True. Every time I fill from a petrol bunk other than Shell my petrol tank develops a healthier appetite and drinks more fuel than if it were at a Shell bunk.Originally posted by NitinGirish View Post+1. I've been conned too. I've filled up LPG for my car occassionally from this bunk and they loot!

And add the IOC bunk near the National Games Village, Koramangala to that list. I got conned really good there.

Why don't you gguys collectively complain against these dacoits to the respective company. Believe me it works

My observations -
Bike: Honda unicorn Dazzler
Note: Riding conditions were similar in all 3 cases below.
Petrol filled: Shell normal of Rs200/- (i.e 2.85 lit)
Petrol price: Rs70/lit approx.
Kms. done: 164 kms
Avg: 57.5 km/lit
Petrol filled: HP normal petrol of Rs200/- (i.e 2.91)
Petrol price: 68.7/lit approx.
kms done: 158 km
Avg: 54.3 km/lit
BP normal petrol of rs200 also lasted for 157 km, so avg around 54 kmpl.
So I conclude that though shell is bit expensive, the total running cost is less while using shell when compared with HP or BP.
Also I felt that the bike runs a bit smoother on shell petrol.
But the only problem is that its difficult to locate shell bunks inside my city(Pune). Also shell prices are different at different locations around Pune.
