    Got WAXPOL'ed !!

Went to the dealer location near royapettah(chennai) but could not locate the place (guess it has been moved to a new place).

Finally thru a local hardware store, got the pointer to Amman Hardwares in Mylapore where they sell WAXPOL. Also they do stock 3M products. Got myself a 3M MF cloth as well

    Pinaki, couple of clarifications..

The container differs from the WAXPOL Auto Polish that i saw in the web site, new carton is it ?

Also they've mentioned "Scientifically Made"(u can see in the pic), what does that mean ? Isnt it Carnauba Wax from Palm Tree that u've said earlier?

In fact i looked up Location map for the contact no in chennai, the said no (52 080 060) is no more, nearest match 42 080 060 is ringing no response. I would visit the place my self but waiting cause i have to find time on a working day.

Shops selling automotive-paints , car refinishing decoration products (& importers for same) , furniture polishing varnish etc materials ,hardware-shops , general paint shops , motorcycle parts stores .

Does the above wax would do the job for plastic fairings or do i need anything else ? Yes it'll do the job .

My bottle is mucho old .. about a couple of years must be ... since I use it infrequently on plastics only .. it lasts and lasts .
Given the prevalent rate of inflation , it is a possible rise . Confirm from the price tag on the bottle or another shop .

    @Pinaki

I bought the liquid silicon polish couple of days back and the MRP on it is 100rs here in bangalore.!!!!

The packaging looks similar but for 300ml i paid 100

Which two are you comparing here ? The waxpol silicone polish , like all liquid polishes with silicone-in-oil formula, is quick & easy to apply and buff off and gives instant deep rich shine (which is why the ASC choose to use it , I think ) . But it lasts about an week , less if it rains .
The waxpol-auto-polish (orange tub) and the turtle hard-shell (green tub) are both natural carnauba wax . Both are much hard work to apply and buff ,as is usual with natural carnauba waxes. But both shall give you shine and protection lasting a couple of months atleast, even if it rains . They are also similar in texture, color and consistency .. and I suspect of a similar formula . Both give equally good results .. I have tried out both . Since the waxpol costs about an 100 Rs and the turtle 4-5 times that in similar sized tubs(with chances of getting a fake) .. lasting similar number of uses .. you know what I have been buying since then .
So nag'jee and Aneesh, comparing the liquid waxpol silicone polish with the solid turtle hard-shell wax , would not be a fair comparison .

A scratch being a physical removal of a line of paint it would not be possible to completely remove by any means , other than removing the whole layer of the surrounding paint/clearcoat or fully repainting the surface . Be clear about this from begining . What we can attempt to do and is fairly possible , is to make it less visible .. to a great extent . There are various means and devices to accomplish this in the car care & detailing market .. too numerous to list here . Some use a chipstick of solid paint of matched colour to fill in the scratch , others trying to buff down the edges of the scratch (which is the most visible eyesore part of a scratch) or reapply a clearcoat . Ordinary waxing with an hard carnauba based wax shall accomplish this both by rubbing down smooth the sharp edges of the scratch and filling it with the wax itself to some extent . In my books , by the time and effort I can afford to spend on it .. that suffices for me untill I can get it repainted properly .
Also I never dry wipe the bike ( or even wet wipe it ) and keep it covered as much as possible , in between wash-dry-polish sessions . Never let mechanics use diesel/kerosene/mobil etc wipes/washes/cloth-wipes on the vehicle too . Never let anyone else use my vehicle or wash & polish it ever . Most swirl marks, scratches and paint fading/damage occurs from these only IMHO .

as per my experience, turtle hard shell gives you protection and silky touch not that much shine.so if you want shine too, than first apply some silicon polish like waxpol silicon/amway glaze than give hard shell coat, preferably 2-3 coats with 24 hrs gap, rest leave it for two months(with daily dusting/removing dust)

For plastics and fiber you can safely use hard shell.
