Bro its an SBK, its a once in a lifetime buy... spending a couple more thousands for flight charges shouldn't hurt.....
Before planning to visit the bike, suggest you to have a check list handy....
Dude, Im waiting for the owner to give the address where the bike is located (In Bangalore). Its not about the flight charges now. Just that I was out of Bangalore for a few days. And yes, the List is ready.. Even had asked a mechanic to accompany me to check the Bike this weekend

The ZX 14 wasnt up to the mark. So deciding not to take it.

      1. No Number plate - Not even Stickers - the person who is taking care of the Bike in Bangalore gave me a broken Number Plate as evidence (So think the Bike has been trashed)

      2. No rear mud guard / trye rims have a few bends

      3. Both the tyres are worn out.

      4. The guy had used the bike extensively on track.

      5. The Bike is registered in the owners friends name. The friend is US, cant be traced for now and hence transfer of ownership a problem.

So considering the factors, i am deciding against the Bike..

      Awaiting your comments...

Totally a wise decision. The alarm bells were ringing in my head the moment I heard the price. And that bit about owner not being traceable; its exactly what Rtech was talking about in that SBK-in-India-guide.

You'd do better waiting for the baby Kwacker.

Wow.. caught this thread late, otherwise would have pinged you with a checklist, but nothing comes close to Rtech's writeup. That is a one stop shop for anybody on looking at getting a superbike.

Yeah at the outset, this bike sounds like it's been through a rough time. Plenty of bikes out there man.. Take your time and pick one when you're good, ready and satisfied.

Well, I am not really the qualified person to be talking about superbikes dreamchaser. There are people out here who would surely help you.

in the article above it is said that bikes registered in mumbai are generally more legal...so does this mean the KA bikes are illegal???so is it better to buy from a dealer in mumbai than one in bangalore???

I guess its because Transferring involves Scrutinizing of the documents by the RTO officials... as 99% of the vehicles imported are brought into india by not paying the proper taxes... So to avoid this problem at that stage..the sellers insist to not to transfer i guess... !!

Im not sure about this..but it seems to be the reason..!
