Here is an example with the use of BriteMax



Take an applicator sponge and apply in the affected areas and wait for about five to eight minutes or till the products goes almost dry, and take an old but a lint free microfibre cloth



Buff the applied areas to a high shine,

Been using Collinite 850 Metal Wax for few years now. Only problem is, you'll not change the brand once used to
No waiting time, just apply & buff off in less then 2-3 minutes.

True that, Even I started off from Collinite, (the bottle is not empty yet, after working on more than 25-30 bikes) But, for ease of use and results, I rate this product very high,

Just makes my life so easier,

I would suggest you to wait for a few minutes even when using collinite for optimum results.

This was achieved using brasso.

Is it recommended to use rubbing compound on our bikes sometimes like once in two months ?
I ride a honda hornet and it has plastic tank cowls which has already got lot of swirls and scratches and slight fadding.
Should I use a rubbing compound or a polish ?
With so many products online it is difficult to make out which one is a polish and which is a wax or silicone protector.
Names of Good compound/polishes will help a lot.

Hi guys,

I do not have a running-water pipe connection, in my parking under the my flat. So I was wondering if anyone could point me towards a pressure water sprayer, that can work with stored water and does not requires power connection. I saw some products online like the one from Resqtech and another one from karcher.

Also I would like to whether or not it is advisable to use pressure washing for bikes? I have always read mixed reviews about it. If not, then is there any other suitable solution that will save me from running up and down the building carrying water?

Pressure washing are of two types stream jet and sprinkle jet. What I do is i use stream jet for under engine in my motorcycle and sprinkle spray for washing on all the upper parts of the motorcycle. But for some detailed washing you may require stream jet wash.


Stream Jet Wash - for 1) Under Engine
2) Disc Pads
3) Chain
4) Mono Shock and its link
5) Oil and dirt soil in side stands and main stands.


Spray Jet Wash - for all the other areas of the motorcycle.


The best way to wash is first wet the whole motorcycle with sprinkle jet and give the dirt and mud to loosen a bit and then use stream jet for the above mentioned areas and spray jet for other areas. Then use a shampoo base detergent to wash your machine, yes it does require a bit more effort but its good in the long run.

I am confused between stream and spray jet. If my understanding is correct, stream jet is the one which sprays water with much force and the sprinkle jet the quantity of water and pressure is comparatively less. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Is a direct stream onto the chain advisable? I read a blog where the user claimed that once he used a jet onto the chain and since, it started to get loose and then ultimately needed replacement. The problem he wrote was that grease within the chain got washed out due to the pressure wash and reduced the life.

Well NO, I use Skil washer to clean or wash my bikes and car. it has to modes where the pressurized water comes in form of a Stream Jet which is quite hard and strong, it can also cut your finger, and when you move the adjuster the same stream jet turns into Spray Jet where you can easily put your hands and no damage. Like how if you have used Collin Spray, the turn of nozzle gets a Stream and when you turn more it gets Spray. So the pressure remains same only the mode changes.

Well I would say lucky me I never faced any problem like this, but the only thing I do is that I spray the Chain Cleaner before getting the chain cleaned. Yes I agree too much spray on the chain may damage it, so I always clean the chain with 1st gear engaged and chain moving.
