man u got 2 option either get a smaller rear sprocket.
thats get a 1st generation unicorn sprocket of 42 or any other bike that suits
          u r hub and chain.
or get a yamaha rx 135 16 teeth front sprocket get it annealled then get a hole and make thread on it which suits u r sprocket lock and again harden it.
1st one is simple and safe 2nd option has a lot of diffficulty and sprocket will not last as longer as original ones

              Members,

Recently my Pulsar 150 DTS-i's sprocket got wasted. There was a lot of noise and so I asked my mechanic to get me a quick solution, instead of buying new sprockets.
He got Pulsar 150 UG3's bolted on to my bike. I found the front sprocket to be same, but the rear one to be 44T instead of 42T.

Now, I get excessive noise from a specific area in the chain. Guess my chain is also wasted. There ain't no point of buying chain and using with some used sprockets, its always better to get it all new. I want to get this chain problem fixed temporarily. Just to decrease this noise coming from a specific area in the chain.

              Also please clarify:

              1. More tooth in rear sprocket than stock results in : ??
              2. Less tooth in rear sprocket than stock results in : ??
              3. More tooth in front sprocket than stock results in : ??
              4. Less tooth in front sprocket than stock results in : ??

I understand that a specific ration is required to be maintained for better response and torque. Like if you have a big sprocket in the front, your bike will not have pickup, but if you get a smaller one then pickup would be better. Still I need better explanation on how this science works.

                Hi Ayush Singh,

                1. More tooth in rear sprocket than stock results in : Less top end, more pick up
                2. Less tooth in rear sprocket than stock results in : More top end, less pick up
                3. More tooth in front sprocket than stock results in : More top end, less pick up
                4. Less tooth in front sprocket than stock results in : Less top end, more pick up

But you will have to strike a balance depending upon what you require.

                  Hi all,,

i'm just here to tell my experience on sprocketing,,

I increased 1 tooth on my CBZ*(took front sprocket of UNICORN) to increase top end,but it didnt increase much(from 105 to 108) as my velicle didnt go pass 8000rpm in 5th,, but what i enjoy most is the speds we can achieve in other gears,, 0-15 is somewhat ok but after that it does 30 in 1st,50 in second and 75 in 3rd easily,, last week in 3rd i reached almost 80 @9500rpm.

yup... the first option looks like the safer and easier one

However, if I'm going from 43 to 42 teeth... wat kind of increase in speed will I get??

Are there any other bike rear sprockets that are compatible with the unicorn??

Chain is different ,sprocket is thinner i personnaly had it checked for my article..
Shine uses a 420 size chain where unicorn is having 428.......
Are you sure of this statement? Bike India themselves said that you can use Unicorn's front sprocket on Shine. Don't they mean that it actually has the same chain Pitch?

But yes, the sprocket thickness is different. While doing the above step, you would have to scrap both sides of Uni's sprocket ...

ya in a way u can change the unicorn front sprocket with that of shines.what will happen is that sprocket being smaller in thickeness will not fit correctly to chain and will degrade much earlier.also if u try to change the chain along with front sprocket, rear sprocket become a problem and i think its hub diameter is different from that of shine and thinks its not interchangable..and the bigger problem is that since shines chain and is designed to take less power than unicirns 14bhp.it will not last much longer...and what the reason to put a shines sprocket when u get a same 14teeth sprocket fit to unicornschain from hh hunk.........

hey guys , i have fitted zma's 13/40 [520] chain on unicorn & the low end is awesome but topend is reduced like hell [-10 kmph]. even though acceleration is great the engine is screaming like mad and i m reaching 100 kmph at around 8000 rpm [previous was 7000] .

so the question arises can it be improved , i heard p200 also uses similar sprocket @ rear , would that help , 38 /37/36 @ rear instead of 40 ???? is the chain width compatible for all new p2xx xi and the zma??

Karizma and UNi's Hub for the sprocket is sort of same, but pusalr's is not same so that point is useless!
