Dear All,

Was fined today for listening to music while riding my bike via headphones in Mumbai. The license has been impounded and as per the traffic cop the offense is not compoundable and I need to attend a court hearing in Andheri.

What is the fine for listening to music on mobile? What should be the course of action in the Court? The Form L states the offense as 250(A) (Using Airphones on Andheri Highway)

As far as i know using earphones on HIGHWAY is an offense as it makes you virtually deaf to traffic and sound alarms and hence considered dangerous and offense.

But I wear headphones only for the left ear and can hear every bit of traffic noise..BTW don't you guys use them because have noticed in many trip logs guys have mentioned the song they were listening to while riding, also how can we travel long distances without music.I daily travel about 63km in the same freaking route I will go mad without music

before some time back i was also finned for the same thing why does car drivers are not finned they also listen to music with windows rolled up while driving and some also listen at very high volume

What is the fine for mobile phone usage while driving these days. I went to the police chowky but they told me that this is not a compoundable offense and the Court will only be deciding the punishment.

using mobile while driving is an offense and fine is rs 100/= only.
