I last serviced my TVS jupiter in 2022, and since then have been changing engine oil / transmission oil at outside shops wherein they change it in front of us immediately.
Calculated average also remains same 40-42 kmpl so i did not bother to get it serviced. Battery also i deal from outside only. Now the issue is my bike battery is new only recently replaced (2 months ago and has full charge) still when i press start switch there is no response (full dead). Self was working fine but suddenly last week while leaving office i started by self and when i stopped at signal and switched off the ignition i could not take the self again, had to kick start vehicle.
As i am a DIY enthusiast i checked the videos on youtube and found that the relay can help resolved and troubleshoot cause of self not working, but when i opened the battery compartment i could not find the relay and then i thought instead of opening full under seat body let me just go to ASC and get it repaired. i was ok with paying labour and material costs to ASC.
I checked the Asc Dhira TVS Ashoknagar on google maps and found an appointment system and booked for 2 pm repair, also called and confirmed with the service centre.
But when i went there the service advisor first says you have to get the issue resolved from where you did the work, i said i havent given outside anywhere apart from battery change and battery is full. He checked the vehicle just started and revved it and then said :
better i give it for servicing also. i said i have changed engine oil transmission oil just a month ago and i want the asc to do the repair which is electrical fault.
He said they dont accept vehicles in afternoon because after lunch they work only on the available vehicles and for them to investigate the issue i would have to leave vehicle for 5 days. I asked him then why they have a running repair appointment system. I also said instead of telling me 5 days bluntly you have to assign mechanic who has to do primary investigation on the vehicle and if it is small issue then resolve it immediately, and if it is complicated issue then i can always take the vehicle and leave when i can afford 3 -5 days.
i left the ASC and then called TVS and raised complaint with them,.
Seems now be it local mechanic or ASC no one is interested in doing running repairs all want you to leave vehicle with them for days and days.
does anyone know other asc or good mechanic service for tvs jupiter self start issue.
