thanks for the deep info i also used bajajs fork oil .. next time i would try castrol
You can also look out for Servo fork oil, this oil is pretty good from Indian oil, i would refrain from using castrol as you never know that whether you are getting original or fake.

Yes.. It is a heavier grade oil as depicted in the chart on page-1.

I found it in Karol Bagh, price was 140 Rs. and you will get one bottle for both the front fork for single time use.

for stiff suspension, one should opt for higher viscosity oil/higher cst/higher weight and vice versa.
So if i want to stiffen up my Pulsar 180 UG3's front suspension a bit more ,is it OK to add 10ml more of the stock bajaj oil?(Service manual says 175ml per fork) or should i go for a higher viscosity oil in same factory mentioned quantity?

Also any idea what is the viscosity of Bajaj fork oil(10W,15W,20W)?

^^^ viscosity of bajaj fork oil is mentioned on 1st or 2nd page.

It is better to go for higher viscosity oil with same quantity as recoended.

Increasing the quantity of oil has other side effects as well.

                            Sorry for the noob question.

On diwali I have changed the fork oil of my FZ-S. I could only get HP shock absorber oil G(Recommended by Gabriel). The recommended oil as per the manual is 10W. Now my bike feels very soft that it started hitting the crash guard. Please suggest if I am using the wrong oil.

                            Cheers

Check whether the quantity of oil used in refill is correct.

+1 on that, as i think i know one side effect of overfilling.

I experimented with increasing qunatity on 200 dtsi. manual recommended 192ml
so i decided to increase quantity in progressive manner
initially filled 190ml and found suspension to be too soft. it was comfortable at slow speeds, but high speeds lways induced nervousness issues due to undulations of road.
so, in a weeks time i added 20 ml to bring the qty to 210ml, and it appeared as if high speed nervousness issues were tackled.
but i got greedy, as the bike still wasnt up to mark on corners. so i decided in all foolishness to add another 30 ml and bring the quantity in each fork
upto a total of 240ml (All with bajaj fork oil)

Finally it was time to test the exploits. on the morning run to office with sparce traffic i was blown over, bike handled so damn well, i just
couldnt believe it. Especially in the corners, it was very well planted when leaned with minimum front dive and extremely stable at exits.

but the affair was short lived and while on my way back from work i hit an small pothole at around 40 - 50 kmph and thats it, both seals gone.
So i would strongly advise against over filling.

Now i am finally back on the ground and put in new seal with motul 20w and 190ml on each shock, while i desperately seek 5w of 10w.

I have checked in with regular motul dealers in Karol Bagh, but they have no idea about any other weight than the 20w they have in stock

Can some please advise where i can look for. or if it could be ordered online?
