I use a cutter proof cable lock (bought in Japan) on my Royal Enfield, but it is quite cumbersome to lug around and heavy. I normally tie it around my pillion seat rail.

For smaller bikes, I would recommend using a Disc lock with a built in alarm. Small and unobtrusive, but the price is on the higher side. But since I have not seen anyone in India use them, it should be fairly pick-proof since the theives would have no experience opening them. The disk locks without alarms should be around Rs.1500 or so.

You can buy it from 20north.com and get it shipped to India from them.
