What is Oil Cooling - Need An Explanation.

There are many bikes which has a oil cooler fitted in it. The purpose is to bring the engine oil out, to cool it more efficiently and take it back to do its job.
Its positive and negative effects are known to us. But not its real working....

Does the oil cooler get input from the oil pump or from the oil filter? For Example, in NS160, one end of the pipe (right side pipe) is landed at bottom of sump, and the other end of the pipe (left side pipe) is landed near the oil filter removal cap. If the filtered oil is cooled(As per the service center guy), then why did they land one end of the pipe at oil filter removal cap? And if i am right, Oil from the sump is pumped to the cooler and landed at the oil filter chamber for filtering, then the filtered oil moves for lubrication as in usual process. Or else the design of oil galleries would be so complex. I tried searching the internet for a proper explanation regarding this, but couldn't find it. Every site says about oil cooling & oil cooled engines, but not the break up of its working. I really want to know what it is. somebody please explain (make me believe), if you know it...

Re: Oil cooled vs Liquid cooled

Just to muddy the waters a little, Suzuki did manufacture several bikes back in the late 80s/early 90s that really were oil-cooled. The early GSXRs, Bandits, and most of the Katanas and the RFs had a huge oil radiator, nearly the same size as most liquid-cooled bikes. They had special jets and channels within the motor that sprayed the cooled oil around, including the undersides of the pistons. They did also have air-cooling fins on the cylinders, but unlike most bikes where there is just a small cooler to help control oil temp, these bikes really did use the oil to cool the motor.

Is the same technology used for oil cooler in all bikes ?
