Thanks guys for all the info. Exactly what I was looking for right now!

I am moving to Bangalore for three months on official business and would like to take my bike along. What should I do to make sure I am not challaned for the JH registration?? The fact is that, I am using the bike in Orissa for near to two years. I got a NOC from the Jharkhand RTO, but never submitted it here or paid the road tax. What should be the best thing to do: get new NOC from JH, or pay an agent to get me an NOC from Orissa?

BBSR traffic police hasn't changed much since I left that place 2 years back!

You don't need an NOC to ride in bangalore, you need to be cunning and learn defensive evasive tactics to avoid cops. For three months its better that you do nothing.

Btw, the legal thing is to actually pay the road tax for 3 months and show that receipt if a cop catches you here. Btw, do get a PUC check done in BBSR before getting it here, you can always use the date of the PUC receipt as a proof of your entry date onto KA roads.

PS: Welcome! We should ride sometime!

You need nothing! You don't need a NOC or you have to pay road tax to use a National Highway.

Thanks Praful. I would better be on the safer side and pay the road tax, else my dad would kill me if there is a police lafda. Please do let me know about the location of the RTO if you've paid a visit.

Definitely looking for some long rides when out there...already started checking out the maps of down south.

I decided not to bother myself with running in circles around the RTO, coz I simply don't feel its worth the headache.

There is no police lafda, incase the cops stop show them you're PUC date like I said in my previous post, max to max they will ask you to pay 100 bux. I strongly suggest you to save you're self the headache.

PS: I've been running TN plate bike here for about a year!

I used a Baroda registration bike for 4 years in Jaipur for my engineering. I was caught a few times and asked why i have a Gujarat No. plate in rajasthan. Everytime i'd reply saying "It was just yesterday that i brought it from my home in Baroda..... I am just a student studying here Sir ". This works everytime and yeah, 'Avoid standing in front at red lights'.
