  • [xBhp Universal Thread]: Honda unicorn free flow

After 5 years of using my unicorn 150! I was thinking why don't I make some cosmetics and performance changes!

I thought I could start with a free flow exhaust and to be honest this is my first thread and don't have any knowledge about anything!! Can anyone suggest me a good exhaust!!

As my bike is fully stock for the past 5 years I don't want any over loud ones . I am looking for silent and good looking and should not harm my engine!!
Also suggest me other basic changes!

      Re: Honda unicorn free flow

Bro simple physics dictates that an actual free flow exhaust wouldn't be silent. It doesn't hinders the flow of exhaust gases, so it doesn't damps its pressure or sound. Also, it would contribute to more pollution - noise ad well as air.

Still, if you want to go down that road, you have to consider that there are three things related to combustion - air, fuel and exhaust. You always have to balance them, so along with free flow exhaust, you need free flow air intake and to maintain the air-fuel ratio, you need to tweak the carb too. Hope this helps.

You can convert your stock exhaust to free flow by removing the catalayitic converter. By doing this the stock exhaust note will be retained. Also swap the carb to that of cbz xtreme or just change the main jet ( uni-113, cbz-x-128) and retune the bike. Your bottom end will slightly decrease but you would get a very solid midrange and decent top end with this mod.

Note- this mod is recommended only if you're using the bike for commuting. It is not suitable for touring as the bigger jetting would cause serious powerdrop in high altitude areas. The unicorn with its stock settings is one bike which is immune to high altitude sicknesses, while most of its peers suffer badly.
