^^^ @ Cap
I am using the CR8EIX. I don't see any difference it has made to my R15. Not that I have expected it to make any difference when I bought it but my Victor shows a clear difference when run with a Platinum plug but the R15 doesn't show up anything even with Iridium.

...
hav u questioned other R15 guys who are using it ?? wat d prb behind..
CR8eIX is working well on my RTR.
Inspite of 150cc engine, it produces more power, also 17ps....
CR8eIX is hotter for u, 17ps requires more colder one, try CR9eIX then...
ya it'll cost extra 550bucks for u
....But it'll work..
else i'll try confirming from some experts with their opinions...

He was sandpapering which spark plug?? If its a platinum or iridium plug, then its done for!Originally posted by outworldly maniac View Posthey guys today for cleaning my spark plug
the mech was rubbing in between the gap with sand paper
is it ok or i will have to get a new one....
any idea how much a NGK BPR 8HS would cost ?
thanks
You want BPR8HS for which bike? Suggest you don't use this for the older 2 strokes. Use MICO W5BC - works good and is inexpensive. Else get BP8HS from a TVS dealer/spare parts shop. AFAIK its a Jap import. Price is also steep at something around Rs. 165. I actually experienced deterioriation in performance with the platinum BPR7HGP in my Shogun. See what works for you...

BPR 8HS because my service manual recommends itOriginally posted by Raccoon View PostHe was sandpapering which spark plug?? If its a platinum or iridium plug, then its done for!

Hello XBHPians.....need your advice. I am using a NGK BPR7HS for my Yam Rx135. I have seen a peculiar behaviour of the plug. The ground electrode keeps changing its position. In other words after a high speed run of 30 odd Kms the gap sometimes increases and sometimes decreases to such a point that the engine starts misfiring......What could be the issue. I guess overheating but so much ?

@Joe, no expert I am but a few pointers (can be pretty dumb!)
Is the behavior seen only with this plug or did it happen with the older plug too?
By any chance, is the plug overtightened? the metal gasket at the neck of the thread, is it flat?
If I think of the worst... by any chance, is the piston hitting the spark plug electrode? (dunno how it can be identified... if it hits, the piston should have marks on it at the place the plug sits)
I did think of a colder plug... but then, without any expert guidance the best bet for me was to stick to the company specified heat range!Originally posted by :':captain:': View PostCR8eIX is hotter for u, 17ps requires more colder one, try CR9eIX then...

okey guyz, need little help.
yesterday while getting the servicing done, the mechanic accidently broke the spark plug (in any way it was supposed to be replaced soon), But he replaced it with some spark plug of 77Rs/- i don't know how long is it gonna work. And i also think that the rating is different then the original plug.
So want to know which is the best Spark plug for Honda Unicorn?

like for stock replacements NGK nikel one is best. More superior are NGK Gpower(platinum electrodes) or BOSCH is also good. n BEST of all is NGK IRIDIUM.
NGK is best...
Gpower comes around 200rs. Better than stock SP's.
IRIDIUM's are best SP's. Best for bikes. Have extended life over conventional plugs, keeps engine clean and also increases acceleration n mileage tough
come around 500-550. NGK IRIDIUM CR7eIX is d model for unicorn. try getin double electrode.

are you sure iridium does not need re - jetting ?Originally posted by :':captain:': View PostNO, this is a misconception. Sparl-Plugs does'nt require jetting..
Jetting is done to maintain the air-fuel mixture.when v are altering the AIR-FILTER. But spark-plugs dont bother for the mixture, if it's lean or rich. They simply burn them. More the GOOD sparks, more efficiently the fuel is burnt, hence more power n efficiency.
WITH THE 'IRIDIUMS', they use a 0.6mm iridium electrode, which makes the potential difference between the electrode and the ground very less, which means spark travel more faster n efficiently which insures that no fuel is wasted, correspondingly increases mileage n efficiency.
M also using an IRIDIUM, with no jetting and M HAPPY WITH IT

Iridiums don't need rejetting. Rejetting is only done if you play with the intake/exhaust. In case of a free flow filter, you need more fuel to compensate for the increased air flow. And if you are going in for a free flow exhaust, a richer jetting helps your exhaust valve stay cooler, thus eliminating heat damage to the exhaust valve.
Cheers,
Jay
