Edit : Another company in my good books. When people at higher levels bother to respond to end user queries so fast, it shows that they are dedicated to their customer base.

could not spare money for cleaner or lube...
took some diesel, tooth brush
then used some shampoo and water.
didnt have hose, used mug to pour water.

have 1 lt of gear oil 90 grade. thinking of putting it tonight.

i have a TVS Victor GLX and i remember somewhere in the manual it said (for the service centre technician) to lubricate the bike chain with molten grease.

I bought grunge brush from aliexpress. took almost 40 days for delivery.But cost was 163Rs on my credit card.shipping free from HK. havent used it as yetbut looks pretty good.

I always wanted to get one of these. Were you charged any customs duty or any other extra taxes for this?

The same costs around 325 including delivery inside India from Amazon. But it comes within a week

I bought the same brush from aliexpress for 90 odd bucks :P yet to be delivered though.

Can someone suggest me, which is the best Chain cleaning product and Lube

I currently use 3M product for lubing and cleaning the chain on my 600. Can I use diesel to clean it, if so, Will it harm any linkages. Once the chain is made dry using a cloth, Can I use the 3M lube.

Also heard that Motul C2 Lube is thin and doesn't stick to your chain much thereby loosing the lube on the chain sooner.

Please share your inputs.

Every month or 1k kms, I take it to SVC and get it done for 250 rupees.

Mate, Isn't 1k kms a little bit too much for a chain lubing interval? Especially if it is an open chain? IMHO, lubing can be done by ourselves. SVC charging 250 bucks just for chain lubing is a rip off.

I concur.

I drive inside the city and periodically keep an eye on my chain. I would love to do it on my own but my chain gets loose as well. Instead of just taking it for tightening for which i will have to pay 150, id rather pay 100 more for the cleaning.

250 bucks for tightening and lubing sounds reasonable. And tightening the chain on the other hand isn't too hard too. I had always been fearful of tightening the chains by myself until I tried and did it. After a few times it became easy as how lubing the chain is. But I don't know who difficult it would be on a 600, besides 250Rs per month for a 600 isn't that expensive at all. I agree with you, for a 600 its better to be safe and go with the SVC, if they use proper tightening torques for the nuts.

Hi friends ,I own a hornet 160r and have done 1050 kilometers on it.my chain was to tightened at 530kilometers and it has become loose now.is it Normal or problem with my riding.also can I use bearing grease for lubrication or any other low cost alternatives to chain spray.

My suggestion would be to avoid low-cost alternatives. Lube with Motul. Is a little expensive as compared to other commonly available brands but is better in quality and the viscosity factor is also better.
