I have bad memory. I used to carry the helmet too. But while in a restaurant, I would keep the helmet under the table and forget all about it. Lost 2 really good helmets in a similar fashion. Now i got a helmet lock fixed on the bike's grab rail. The helmet sits high and is not too prone to getting scratched. I use this when i go to the mall or a similar place. In office, keep it right in front of me on the desk.

Usually I take where I ever go...But sometime I use under seat arrangement given in r15. It looks ugly though. Tried to leave sometime on the bike without any lock or anything!! Lucky enough to get it back. I have tried in malls and in front of some shops. In Bangalore I hv seen ppl leaving helmet just like that. However one of my cousin lost helmet in one of mall in Hyd. They cut out the belt and took it.

Can any one explain the under seat arrangement of the R15 ???
Can this be done to any other bike??
i also saw tht my frndz ZMR has a small lock on the side , i think this can be welded on the bike rite??

I don't read all the posts but the best and safest as well as convenient way to do that is to lock the helmet with the number loop lock (cycle wala lock),i am doing this from last 1 year and seriously feels very relieved.

Use a good quality cable lock. It will be the easiest one. However it won't be possible to use one on the handlebars of most of the bikes (excluding a duke). So you will have to lock it at the grab rail.

Guys even if you find out a way to keep your helmet on your bike dont do it becoz i have seen stupid college students who think that they are the kings of the road n kick the helmets hanging on bikes or try to fiddle with them, ya its sometime irritating to carry the helmet with you but after sometime it will not disturb you .

Carrying it everywhere is quite uncomfortable to me . So I purchased a cable lock for my duke 200 and keep the helmet at the handlebar near the console. No problem for the last one year.

I too lock my helmet to the drab rail and has become dirty. Can any one suggest me the inside cloth of an helmet

Put the strap inside under the seat and lock the seat. There is a bungee hook inside and some space so that the strap is not under too much pressure.
Been lucky and have never seen my helmet move from its place in the last 5 years. This is for office parking.

For malls, etc, either deposit it or carry it with me. Too many fiddly people around.
