Well it is so simple to modify a bike - whatever it may
It may be a TVS50 -------- the owner can modify it and make it look like a sports bike
There are two types of modifications
1 - Cosmetic
2 - Performance
Well many prefer the first one - since its all about eyes which attracts more - than the real power
But we XBHpians prefer both - but priority for the performance modifications
There are lot of options you can do in performance modifications -----
it depends upon only one thing
1 - Depth of your pockets
the options are
1 - Sprocketing
2 - K&N
3 - Free Flow Pipe
4 - Upjetting
5 - Re-boring
6 - Nitrogen flyers
more more and more..............

Well i really believe in kepping the bike's CC intact, while going about to work around it, to be able to extract the maximum out of that layout without stressing the engine too much, and you would be surprised at how much a bike can do just by making such mods itself, these are some things i would like to see done on my bikeI'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

Well modifications can be easily done in a Two stroked bike using expansion chambers
As my friend is doing 140 and above in his RX135 with an expansion chamber
But as far as Four strokers - it costs a lot to Modify the engine - since four strokers has valves and some machinery job to do this
But a 120 doing Pulsar 200 can be made to touch 140 with some descent mods
By the way @themadrussian - waat is the top speed ur getting?

^^ Ahh i've always wanted to ask this, may sound noob but i know little of two-strokes so here are some queries i have
What is this expansion chamber?
How does the two-stroke actually work apart from combining the two strokes (Intake+Compression and Combustion+Exhaust) together? (i heard somewhere that the 2-strokers is similar to diesel engines in some ways during it's compression stages, is this true?I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

modding my apache 150 with some 160RTR accessories
Hi Guys . I have a red Apache 150cc . I want to replace my speedo and tacho with the digital one present in 160RTR and also i wanna change the backlight to the LED one also same as 160RTR model. I think the backlight wont be a problem but am unsure abt the digital console. What you guys say ??
is it possible?

El Loco, check here to know about two strokes :: HowStuffWorks "How Two-stroke Engines Work". And As far as Diesel engines are concerned, its a totally different system. Proformance Mods
ive got a p150dtsi v1 and...was thinking about the following mods
would love to know the effects n cost of the following :-
1)a smaller rear sprocket(i need the bike to be a bit more realaxed at 100+)
what are the options avaiable? is the sprocket of any other bike a direct fit ??
2) bigger jets..again can i use jets from some other bike?? and would i have to replace any other parts of the carb??
3)Exaust..i am thinking of buying a old exaust from the 2nd hand market and cutting off the muffler...ie.just a plain pipe for an exaust...
4)can i modfy my current airbox for better air flow??
would love inputs from anyone who has expermented with sprocketing and jetting here...
and please please guys dont suggest buying a bigger bike because i would not have posted a mod query..if i wanted an upgrade..

^^ 1. Umm......you actually go for a bigger sprocket to get the bike to drop it's revs down in higher gears, and it makes your bike scream if you go for a smaller sprocket 'cause a smaller sprocket makes more rpm than a bigger one, as of now ZMA's have the biggest sprocket
2. The biggest jets available on the Pulsars are a 120, i think the ZMA runs on an 125 jet, anything bigger you've got to bring it from abroad or modify the existing one, but just going for a bigger jet will only drop your overall efficiency rather than increasing it, you need to keep the carb tuned to get that correct combo of a bigger jet/mixture
3. If you cut up the muffler of an exhaust you can end up screwing the tuning of your bike, cause the muffler is being put there for a particular reasons, so as to maintain backpressure and the tuning length, cutting an exhaust is not going to make the bike go any faster
4. You can go for a paper type air-filter rather than an default foam type filter, there are brands like KnN and Pipercross that make themI'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

i think i got something wrong..by default is the rear sprocket bigger or the one on the gear box??..i think the front is smaller and the rear is bigger(correct me if i am wrong)... n has zma sprocket to be modfied? or its a direct fit on my v1??
is the 120 size jet a direct fit??(from where can i get one)
what other exaust options do i have..i hate the sound of the aftermaket ones, and dont see any proformance gains in my friends bike which uses an hrc one(only a good exaust note)
will the stock one do if i up jet???
nothing personal but i somewhat dont like the k&n or similar types of air filters...again can i keep the stock airbox if i upjet?

The one's in the gearbox are actually smaller than the one's on the rear, i think if you go for a bigger sprocket you might probably have change the chain too, there are also chances that you might have problems fixing the bigger sprockets, since their brackets can be wider than the default one, you can get a 120 from a P180 and it is a direct fit, aftermarket exhaust are not always a direct fit on most bikes, you need to find a tuner who will make a custom exhaust just for your bike, calculating all the crucial factors like tuning length , backpressure and so on, and yes you can keep your stock airbox even after re-jet which you have to do if you go for a custom exhaustOriginally posted by Richard View Post@ EL LOCO DIABLO - thanks for the reply
