Bloody hell! I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX260, and I so want to upgrade to something better as well.

A Core 2 Duo means you have a PCI-E slot, so this card is a direct fit into your system. Just make sure you have a power supply that is capable enough.
This card would be costing somewhere around 8-9K now.

Compatibility, definitely, but it will only be an issue if one has an old PC with an AGP slot, or a newer PC without an expansion PCI-E slot.
The power supply needs to be able to handle the load of the system with the GPU added in it. The standard 350-400W power supplies that come with generic cabinets are not able to support high loads.

@ All: Had one query, i installed NFS Shift on my laptop and it was successfully completed too. But, as soon as i click on the icon, the game loads and the name appears. But then nothing happens..!! The screen remains blank..!!
Can anyone help/guide in this..

Well you have to make a visual check for anything out of place. But if the card is displaying the image on the monitor properly then it is okay. I guess you could try out a few games on it as well...

Its the readme file of NFS SHIFT..You can see the Min sys requirements as it may meet your laps config...& also check for troubleshooting...

You have the Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics in your laptop.
It does not meet the minimum requirements of NFS Shift and so you are seeing a blank screen.
