Thanks Aj!Originally posted by ajslave View Posti dont know about the exchange, you could sell it off to a friend if someone's looking for one.
you can actually build a decent gaming rig for <25k (excl monitor).
for decent gaming, an ATI 4770 for 6-7 grand will do. with a higher budget you could go for a nV GTX260, 10-11k. performance wise, both are pretty much the same, but nV has a better feature set than ATI
I already have a Desktop with 17'' TFT..
But the RAM and Other components need a serious upgrade..
So, soon I would be updating to a new assembled Rig. Though NVIDIA is what I am looking for as the first option but 10k grands are more than I expected. Any other decent options under 8k grands?
Ah! One more thing..
VISTA Suxx big time!!!
Infact it out performed the NT in 'I am the worst' competition!!
Am I the only person to have this conseption or it really Suxx?
Xp was one of the best OS from Microsoft.. One of a kind!!
I had recently ordered Windows 7, any Idea where it stands overall and seperately for gaming??

The C2Q 8400 is pretty good option for the CPU costs about 8 grand, but worth it, and for under 5g's you can get some decent mobo's. For 30K i think you have to settle with LGA-775; DDR2 setup as they are cheaper and can get the thing done for the 30K constraint than the DDR3; LGA 1156/1366 setup. But if possible try the I5-750 with the Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 mobo, though i have no idea how good it'll handle the GPU. The rest is basically user preference like the screen size and HDD's, but make sure you get the correct rating PSU.Originally posted by pulsar_flame View Postfolks i am going to build a new rig my use is for gaming and browsing purpose and my budget is 30k and config's pls ? and also should i go for ati radeon 4650 512mb or nvidia geforce 9500 gt 512mb ? pls suggest

In the 30K budget do you have to get everything or do you already have a monitor, speakers and kbd/mouse? (Old PC?)
If your desktop is 5 yrs old then we are looking at Pentium/Athlon, DDR1 and AGP. Everything will have to be replaced.Originally posted by Shanz View PostThanks Tanay. These are the option I already knew from day one!
Though plug and play ported GPU was something really needed!
Maybe, I will have to return to my 5yr old desktop and get it back in superb working condition by adding new components and removing old one's or a total change of whole CPU. Lets see what help's more?
Is there any way to exchange the laptop, watewer it takes, dosnt matters ? Its only two weeks old
And how much ATI and NVIDIA GPU cost for desktop? And which one is better for gaming?

PC for life manOriginally posted by ceasar View Posti think he got a console
AFAIK the ATi has quite an impressive spec sheet as compared with the 9500 GT nearly beats the nVIDIA in every aspect and lands bigger numbers in everything from the shader units (ATi:320; nVIDIA:32!) to the memory clock (ATI:700MHz; nVIDIA:500MHz), so between the ATi and the nVIDIA, ATi offers far more bang for your buck and it is DirectX 10.1 so you don't have a problem with DX10 titlesOriginally posted by pulsar_flame View Post@el loco yeah as u say c2Q comes under my budget well, may i know which graphics card should i go for ati radeon 4650 512mb or nvidia geforce 9500 gt 512mb ?I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

Okay! Here's the most complicated plan..Originally posted by tanay View PostIf your desktop is 5 yrs old then we are looking at Pentium/Athlon, DDR1 and AGP. Everything will have to be replaced.
Replacements dependent on your budget
Bring home new CPU and leave the older one out!!
Complicated, isnt it?
So what am planning is a new RIG!!
What I have is..
Monitor (LG, TFT, New)
Speakers (5.1 channel, PHILIPS, New)
Mouse n Keyboard (zenith, Old)
UPS (New, Elnova, brilliant backup!)
I guess, A new CPU will complete the list..
20k-25k Grands is the budget..
I love to watch movies, browsing/downloading, gaming(intense, heavy and seriously good config. demanding game's) and music..
So now kindly tell me wht config. I should go for??
^^^any idea on this one?Originally posted by Shanz View PostThanks Aj!

@Shanz, yes you're right, vista does suck. although i realised it only after windowss 7 came out
. windows 7 is much better IMO. for gaming its as stable as XP. gaming performance is again much better than Vista in DirectX 10 mode, and as good as XP in Dx9.
@El loco: nice review of Dirt2, but here's something you missed out
. Put up your screens too, lets see how it looks at its fullest settings. On my 8800GTS most settings are at 'Ultra', some only high

About 45K totally, the CPU alone cost me about 35K, worth every penny if you ask meOriginally posted by Shanz View Post^^^More than one can demand!!!

Well the game by default loaded on 1600x900 screen resolution, 4x Anti Aliasing with the Vsync on "OFF" which i turned "ON" i think the rest was set on "Ultra", there is absolutely no framerate issues and runs very smoothly, i even had a bit of a stutter in Shift in a couple of places, but this runs at a good 45-50fpsOriginally posted by ajslave View Post@Shanz, yes you're right, vista does suck. although i realised it only after windowss 7 came out

20-25K eh? Go the AMD way.Originally posted by Shanz View Post20k-25k Grands is the budget..

Phenom II X2 550 ~5K
Some nice motherboard (depends on whats available near you) - 3~5K
2x2 GB DDR3 ~4K
Use that old DVD or CD ROM, or new one is ~1.2K
HDD : 500 GB is 2.3K
PSU : Some nice 500-600W supply - ~3K
Cabby: U decide. Zebronics Bijli is nice one ~1.5K
And lastly, the GPU:
NV 9800 GT ~6.5K or its renamed version GTS 250
HD 4850 ~6.5K
See the Personal Comp thread. Built a system for a friend at 17K and runs stuff great. When gaming, cheap CPU and powerful GPU is the stuff that will push out more FPSs.
Since you are keeping the LCD, what size & resolution is it? That will decide the GPU.Last edited by tanay; 12-21-2009, 10:01 AM.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER
