i would recomment AMD. forget phenoms. just buy an athlon x4 630 or something. with the coming of their 32 nm hexacores, all current gen processors would be outdated. i suggest you put your money in a good GPU, PSU, cabby and RAM.
and yeah, RAM - use 4GB max for 32bit system. 2^32=~4GB. so thats the max your system will use. anything more is sheer waste.
and as Tanay said, i7 is not VFM for a gamer. you dont need much multitasking here. if not overclocking, i5 750 would be a good choice. or amd x4... overclocked x6 is better.
anyways, budget is everything... so let know.

It costed me 6k, some 4 months back.Ordered it online. Nice card. Go for HD4850, it's superb and packs in more performance.But i think 400W is somewhat low for those type of cards.Recommended wattage is 550W.Originally posted by thmh201 View Post

GPU: hd 5870 (@~23k) is far better than 9800gt in performance. and since your motherboard is am2 and has only 1 PCIe 16x slot, you cant use crossfire. so i suggest 5870 or atleast 5850 for the games you have specified to play. but using vga out from such a gpu is... ahem! you will get a good 22" full hd benq for 7.5k. give it a thought...Originally posted by thmh201 View Post

PSU: as Chicane said, 550watts should be enough. go for corsair vx550 or coolermaster. if you want a bit of future proofing, go for corsair tx650 or CM 650w (bit cheaper and equally good).
cabinet: the 5850 is about 9.5" long and 5870 would be 10.5". so check if it fits in good with your current setup. and if you dont use a better cabinet, you might as well be posting heating problems in sometime. so get it changed. if you can afford CM 690, then thats a good buy. nzxt gamma is also good but short in supply. i think your current mobo will fit in. check...BIKER ...the thrill and sense of self-fulfilment is obtained from living a little dangerously!Comment

opps sorry. I mis-wrote my sentence. I know what are they, I only wanted to know that how it will affect gaming as games are not specifically designed for 64-bit and such is the case with softwares too. I have ran a 64-bit PC too, could'nt find any difference between speeds of 32 and 64 that's why I asked what is the basic difference? My budget is 50K only.Originally posted by shadez View Post

you need atleast an i5 to match up or beat an AMD. the remaining falls wrt the processor.

I have finalized i5 processor and ordered it. I have one more query, as you have mentioned the graphics card are now coming with DDR5. Are there any DDR5 RAM available? If yes then do i5 support them?
Also, Please enlist some AMD processors, Although I have ordered i5 still I would like to know what a real AMD is? why they are becoming much popular over Intel.
