now nvidia is showing a new release of 200x or something graphics cards..newer range than 9series..

@niks: i think they will work here since sony officially brings US version ps3 to india only..(i suppose)ps3 has yet no cheap source of material..*games*..also blu ray is actually on the way of a painful slow death..if you can afford originals then its worth,
xbox 360 has cheap sources and accessories are available officially.

u can actually run linux on xbox 360..so both your needs wil be done.

even i would simply suggest to switch to ATI..nvidia is just revamping cards by overclocking them and sellin..nothing great.

I have been trying to check these things on the internet , for voltage u get a step down to bring voltage down to 110 for us electronics , NTSC-PAL wont make a problem as TV's now support all the formats ..... the only thing remaining is the DVD region lock , i hope it wont be a problem after u get it hacked/cracked ....

If you happen to know someone who own a US version , do let me know.

BTW I just got myself a Palit 4850. Its bloody awesome. I played COD 4 at a pathetic 1024*768 with all medium settings. Now I set most settings to max and am playing at 1280*1024. Its just awesome. Am now playing Crysis. WHAT A GAME...Downloading warhead in the background. I have an older system, but with most settings to max and anti-aliasing at 2x the framerate is almost always steady! The only problem I face though is that, the CPU is kind of lagging behind. Since I set audio to max and am using a 4.1 channel speaker using the onboard audio, the speaker kind-of mutes itself during heavy action. Manageable though

u can walk either in landmark or at croma where 360s are kept.u can ask them what version they use..europe us or japan..mostly it will be us only.

mod chips are available for some 3k that release the locks.making it total region free.


@aryan:frankly speaking..if you have a 8800GTx or s upgrading to a 9 series to me will not be that beneficial.9 series is still technically related to the 8series.upon that games have not yet made a huge leap in graphical terms as compared to xbox 360 and ps3..u can simply take the example of GT5 which for pc will litreally make it hog.my suggestion would be rather to wait and watch.


crysis warhead is nothing but a change in story line and change in weapons and change in the look of that alien spider.they were lazy and put all stuff of crysis graphics and stuff same same into this..to me not worth of letting 8gb go.

Hey Aryan and Anvancy! Great to see you guys in action! Well I just bought The Witcher and Warhammer 40000 Anthology. Gonna have a blast playing through these. The only crappy thing is I have to download the Enhanced Edition patch for Witcher which is over 1 GB I think...with the bonus materials included.

Meanwhile, I have been on a gaming rampage with Vampires Bloodlines, Earth 2150 Lost Souls, Earth 2160, Deus Ex and its sequel, CNC3 Tiberium Wars, Zeus and expansion, Jagged Alliance Gold, DMC4, etc etc etc...Man DMC4 kicks ass!!! These are just to name a few. I have also started modding some of these games like crazy (well only unit values and scripts...no art stuff) and it feels great!

@Marcus: Have you bought the originial or pirated version of 'The Witcher' because if you have bought the "illegal" version, then the update won't work, or it is "not supposed" to work with pirated versions.

The enhanced edition of Witcher seems to be a great addition and this is perhaps what 'The Witcher' originally should have been in the first place. I personally loved the game, although I did not finish the whole of it. Would love to get my hands on the enhanced version.

As of now, I am still waiting for 'Crysis - Warhead' to arrive at the video game mecca of Delhi..
