The show however was awesome, and hugely crowded.

There were stands put up by the Japanese Majors showing off there latest and greatest, and then there were EA and MS with their games and X360 respectively.

Tried a few games there - NFS Undercover on PS3, a three minute demo play - not much in control as the analog controller of the PS3 was a new thing for me....

Also tried out a Multiplayer shooter - again on a PS3 and it totally isn't my thing what with the right analog controller to control the direction of view and the left to move. Love my mouse and keyboard.

Overall, had an TOTALLY AWESOME, but eventually tiring day.

PS. there were booth babes there too, check out my flickr link below. :P

they believe in dedicated game thing..thats why console sales are high rather than PC graphics cards..

TGS is one hell of a show..and you in JAPAN currently must be knowing how well talented they are really in making men sweat...that industry is just huge.....and there are many and zillion shops..
    there are no stupid questions.

    but there are stupid people.

Japanese in general are more into gadgets than computers or single point solutions - thus the many gadgets boom!

consoles are HUGE there, because the japs believe in plug, and play

      or so i've been told!

i think it also has something to do with language compatibility and the keyboard!

gurus, need help. My config is pretty poor, amd sempron 2400,a7v400(the worst!), 1gb ddr400, nvidia fx5200 128mb.
Used to play the nfs games upto carbon without issues( even when i was running 256 mb ram) and cod.
I am a novice at games, so any fps like cod or any games with car and bikes that you can recommend which will suit my skill and config?

                    • Guys, I am looking at buying a 22" monitor. My 17" CRT from samsung has gone, I have really been pissed off with Samsung Service, after keeping the monitor for a month they say, very old model and tell me to buy a new one. I have decided not to buy a Samsung this time.

I had shortlisted the DELL 22" 2208WFP with web cam, but the DELL guys say item not in stock and not sure when it will be in stock. Kinda confused looking at the other options. I would prefer a monitor which has a color Gamut of atleast 90% and good connectivity options eg:- HDMI, DVI, VGA.

                      • Knowing that you are into photography as well, I'd suggest you to skip the 22in line. All of them come with TN panels suited for gaming, not for good color reproduction.

Look for good ones in 20in or 24in.. Dell ultrasharp series are the one to look out for. I have the Dell 2408 monitor and so far happy with it. No speakers/webcam, but has all the ports you could need (display port too) and card reader (with 2 usb ports to use as hub).

Costs 56K. I always wanted that one, but it will create a big crater in my pocket, especially for a married man like me. But to be frank that is the monitor to have.

                          • Quite high priced here.. luckily got it for way lesser than that (40% price :P ) . Look for other Ultrasharp series (20inch).

There is a ncie reference/guide for you to decide the model:
