Computers And Video Games

gurus, need help. My config is pretty poor, amd sempron 2400,a7v400(the worst!), 1gb ddr400, nvidia fx5200 128mb.
Used to play the nfs games upto carbon without issues( even when i was running 256 mb ram) and cod.
I am a novice at games, so any fps like cod or any games with car and bikes that you can recommend which will suit my skill and config?

Both of those GPU's will set u back by 27-28Ks . IMO, go with a HD4850 or Nvidia 9800GTX.

for that config, u can try these games:
1. UT-2003
2. Medal of Honour (Old Titles)
3. Stalker: SOC
4. GRID
5. UT-III
6. CS: Source
7. Half Life: Orange Box
8. FEAR
9. Far Cry
10. Doom 3 and ROE.
Believe me, there are tons of titles. However, i would really recommend you to upgrade your system ASAP!

I have been using NVIDIA all my life, so I would obviously suggest you an NVIDIA card.

@gold heart: Are you sure the latest card from NVIDIA (GTX 280) costs just 28k? My guess: it would be more in the range of 33-38k or thereabouts..

@anvancy.. My fifa 09 isnt stopping me from playing in career mode. The screens and the game play is simply beautiful. I have a feeling of playing a PS3 game.

New controls with mouse as well... for shooting and lobbing ball from opponents...

I have been using a mix of Ati and nVidia cards for a long time since I started using PCs. From my current experience, I can say that the 4870 feels a lot better than the nVidia's now. Just ensure u have enough cooling and airflow in ur cabinet.

@apar: I have 3 fans at work all the time to cool down the cabinet.

Used it!! But the problem is the stupid aliens, shoot me out. I struggled to get thru the tornadoes and just when I was getting thru' the damn aliens shot me down....
