First of all, very informative thread. Many a times people get harassed by traffic cops as the cops says that your challan will come out to 1500 or so and then the poor citizen decides to bribe the cop to get out of the situation easily. When actually, the challan would have amounted to just a 100- 300 bucks and that money should have gone to the govt. instead it went in the cops pocket.

Secondly, This information is purely related to cars, as we can see in the topic riving offenses(not Riding offenses). It would be great if information about riding offenses that motorcyclists are liable to pay for could be added to this thread and then the topic name should be changed to Traffic Offences to accommodate both 4 and two wheelers.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Bah ! Am I the only ones who feel that the fines levied are bit low ? A good lunch costs more than most of the fines.

If I travel opposite on a one way, almost hitting most of the vehicles/people, I only have to pay 200, if my mood is bad n shout at the police, then it might go to 300 ! Woooooo !
                    Peace \m/

Those are only sign boards for decorations. No one follows those speed limits. Not even Auto rickshaws .

I know its kind of late in commenting but couldn't resist .

Actually speed limits by RTO are as follows

                        Heavy vehicle container truck:40 kmph
                        Bikes/Scooters: Max 50 kmph
60 kmph for trucks and buses

And surprisingly no speed limit defined for cars, jeeps and light 4 wheeler vehicles
Actually I think that it should also be restricted till 80 kmph max for any car/jeep/lcv but at present there are no restrictions.

In earlier thread,Parth wanted offences done by two wheelers.
                            Here are some of them

Actually there is one riding offence by most of motorcyclist and scooterist
                            In city and on highway
No two wheeler is driven in straight line in a continuos lane.
As a courtesy, anyone has to use indicator signals while changing lanes but many two wheeler riders ride their vehicles in a zig-zag way.
Someone overtakes from left and moves in rightmost lane and again comes in left lane.
And all this offences are carried out without indicator signals.

                            Another offence by two wheelers
                            Overtaking on bridges and flyovers
Basically this is an offence liable for penalty according to RTO but sad to say this rule is only on paper.I have not heard or seen anyone fined for driving in zig-zag way on a flyover/bridge
The reason behind this rule is that imagine that if a overtaking judgement goes wrong then there is literally no excuse.if accident occours on a bridge or flyover, any motorcyclist/scooterist can directly fall down from height of around 10-20 meters.Sad to say but a helmet also cannot save you in this condition.
Hence please dont overtake in zig-zag way on a flyover/bridge

hey guys is it against rules/law to have the number stickered on bikes front fender rather than on number plates

                              concerning FZ16 or FZ-s
