  • hunk or pulsar150

    hello my dear friends

i have been riding cd dawn for past 2 years and now am deciding to buy hunk or p150. i am 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 74 kg with a fit body.
i travel 40 km everydau so mileage is considered along with a decent power.
there are rumours that mileage of pulser decreses to 35 kmper litre after 1 year, is it true?
    please help
how important it is to feel strong,
    rather than just being strong.

Since you are 5'10" i guess you can go for other options also, like tvs RTR which is a better bike compared to the ones said above. I am not starting a fight here. My friends have p150 and RTR 160 and also i am huge pulsar fan also, but still i loved the RTR racing throttle response.
Both P150 and Hunk are good bikes. And about mileage decreasing to 35, i think anti pulsar guy fooled you. That is not bound to happen. Test ride both the bikes and see for yourself. My personal opinion would be P150

there is nothing like mileage going down if maintained properly. Both the bikes are good.. But my personal suggestion would be the pulsar.
          pulsar 220 dts-fi clocks 145kmph!

No, its not true as long as you maintain the bike normally.

Had that been the case, the Pulsar 150 would not have been the best selling model of India since 2001 (in fact non of the current 150cc bikes existed in 2001).

Just for the record my P220 still returns 35+ kmpl (as it did when it was new) consistently even after 2 years and 23,000 plus kms.

Both the Pulsar 150/180 have very comfortable and pampering rear shocks.. Plus the UGIV Pulsars got DC lighting. The Hunk is a good bike as well..

              Take test ride and decide.

Go for Pulsar only if Service Station in your Town is good or else you'll end up regretting like me and also in my case Pulsar proved to be unreliable over long run.
I suggest you look at other options as well

Here's my experience just for your info

My friends have both Hunk and Pulsar 150 .i have tried both Pulsar 150 and hunk in almost all conditions and let me tell you Hunk is really more fun to ride..
In terms of performance and reliability I prefer Hunk any day ..
Both of them do not care much about maintenance and after 2 years i can clearly say the Hunk was still performing well and solid (even though the smoothness has reduced ) while the pulsar 150 performance is considerable reduced and he is now looking for an upgrade .

But let me tell you one thing frankly Hunk will not give you a mileage more than 43-45 . They will claim more mileage but the truth is mileage is hardly 45(city).

So between Pulsar 150 and Hunk go for Hunk if you are ok with a mileage of 45 . But the thing is that there are a lot of other nice bikes avialable in this segment as well . Check them also

Check out unicorn , suzuki Gsx , apache , cbz extreme .. Make sure that you take a test drive o f these and find out which bikes charector is more suitable for you ..

Between the Hunk and Pulsar, I would suggest the Pulsar for you. It is lighter, has better top-end, mileage than the Hunk. Do consider other options(RTR, GS, Unicorn, CBZ-X) as well.

                        go for hunk or CBX-EXTREME
hero honda bikes are very reliable for long term, good service network also
you will get decent mileage of 50 kmpl with hunk easily

Only testdrive can help you in both the cases.

150cc class has variety of bikes. So you would be having lots of choice to make.

But still, If I was in you place...I would have gone with Hunk (If you dont mind the name ). Well its best handler of 150cc apart from R15. Mileage is more or less same with all other 150cc bikes. Again one of the most comfortable bikes to ride and of course no question of its reliability. Performance wise it is very well in competition for topend, 0-60 etc.

The only reason if I would go for a pulsar150 would be for its DC electricals. thats it.

+1 ... Go for hunk, I spoke to 1/2 dozen Hunk owners at HH svc centre few days back...are were very happy with the bike...and intrestingly all reported 50+kmpl. If you don't like it go for Xtreme....else Unicorn the evergreen 150cc bike !!

Performance wise, it won't make much difference in real life. HH have stronger reputation in reliability department. Lookwise, I prefer the Hunk, so my suggestion would be Hunk.
