  • Bike with maximum resale value ???

    Dear All,

I am planning to purchase a new Karizma-R.
Need your help to decide on my first bike.

Some of my purchase considerations are as follows:
    1. Most importantly, I need a very high value of resale for the bike after 2 years. I should get a min of (Price minus 35,000) as a resale value for my bike after 2 years.
    2. My budget can vary from 70,000/- to 1,10,000/-
    3. Will be using the bike only for city commuting with an average run of 500 kms per month.
    4. I am a tall rider & need comfortable ride along with powerful engine.
    5. Need a very low maintenance bike as I don't get time out of my busy schedule.
    6. My set of consideration is Karizma-R, Karizma-ZMR, Yamaha Fazer or Pulsar 220 ...

Please help me in choosing my dream bike.

    Thanks in advance.

for 2 years most of the bikes 'll provide u a good resale value.

above 80k rs bikes 'll not give u a good resale value(except: Bullets)

If u r tall enough then dont consider fazer(u can check it out going for a test drive).but if u r comfortable then fazer 'll be the best bike according to your needs.dr is enough power and trq in fazer.bit of a head turner(personal).

parts supply of karzisma's little bothering(depends upon ur luck).u can look for other HH options.

but when it comes to maintanence free kinda bike then go for YAMAHA or HONDA(honda 'll not give u a good resale value kinda bike).

          stick with yamaha.

What if your bike meets an accident...?
It would reduce your resale value

What if your bike had some niggling issues which might reduce your resale value..?

What if tomorrow you go for a bike and the next day manufacturer stops its production which would/might set spare parts prices sky rocketing and availability a big pain in the ass....
It would reduce your bikes resale value....!

Any urgent need to sell your bike and you get your friend who is ready to pay you not what you expect...?

            etc etc

Just wanted to highlight these points since you cannot guarantee what might be in store for you. So buy a bike for TODAY and enjoy your ride without bothering about resale values...!!!

Just for those 5-10k rupees (which would further loose their value due to what India is subjected to; called as inflation) do not compromise on what you can buy right now...

Nonetheless, keeping all other factors constant, ZMA is expected to fetch you a better amount as 'resale value' than most of its competition...

            All the best!
            2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
            2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
            2006 - Eterno (sold)
            2008 - Dio (Owned)
            2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

@TS.. is high resale value the most important point of your requirements??
Why don't you go with the one you like the most?? I believe difference in resale value isn't going to be huge unless the bike is doing really bad in market.

Karizma-R - Will be phased out by that time(ZMR is its replacement) phased out bike = poor resale
Karizma-ZMR - hasnt caught the people's fancy. Many people also dont like its looks. resale expected to be poor, but not sure on this
Yamaha Fazer - new model coming in august(rumours)(highly unlikely though) If it comes out, your bike will get bad resale
Pulsar 220 - Bajaj facelifts its bikes every 15 days. PATHETIC resale
Bullet/ Thunderbird - ageless design. Facelifts and new models once in 500 years. The safest bet.

Wow you looks like a secondhand bike agent...
All bikes which you have mentioned has good resale value. If these bike don't have good resale value then what Star City or CT-100 will have good value..these bikes are luxury bikes of India apart from SBK.

I am a student but I will take that as a compliment

I have already told why these bikes might not have good resale.
Currently they all have a great resale

My CT100 is getting me pathetic resale
Star city will be better because of electric start and alloys

SBKs are a different league altogether.

Thnx all for your valuable advice.

Finally, I need to decide between Fazer & Karizma-R on the basis of resale & need of maintenance.
Also, I would like to know the ratings of Honda bikes like CB Unicorn Dazzlers & CBF Stunner.

                        Thanks.

Honda still strugling to establish its reputation in india in commuter biking segment.
unicorn(old) may give u some resale value.

I fail to understand how a bike that is about to be phased out will give good resale?
