Bro..details which are required are like the purpose for which you need bike, your personal details like your height, weight etc. , usage(city or highways) , are you commuter or tourer, mileage, looks of bike, sporty or comfortable, whether you would be riding with pillion mostly or alone ..etc etc...Guys add more if I missed something...!!!

new bike
well im 6ft,62kgs..mainly for commuting from home to office around 25kms from both side, mileage not an issue, nor is the riding position and yes for solo riding..but a guy in jaipur is selling 6mnths old r15 for 90000,i rode the bike and it was good so im a little bit confused whether i should go for the new one or take the older one..because i dont know whether the guy kept his bike in good condition or not with timely services playing a major part in bike's life and engine....thanksAS24

Dude, the second hand R-15 is like over priced man, but how many Kms has been run?. But then again, I'd say better buy a new one. You really cant say what has been done with the bike.
Check the following before buying a second hand bike:
1. Bike papers
2. Engine Condition
3. Cosmetic Condition
4. Crash History
5. Service History with bills if any spares has been changed.
6. Most of all - ask the seller why he is selling the bike. Try to get the riders history as well. It can be used to roughly judge how the bike has been maintained. A student would mean the bike has been red lined constantly. A Doctor would mean the bike is probably as good as new. A IT guy would mean sane driving but irregular services. A Uncle (rare for r-15) would mean Pristine Engine but a bad gearbox due to constant rough use.
If the reason is relocating to another country - Bargain... Thats right many at times, People who move to another country, wanna push of the bike asap. My friend got A TBTS (with 8Kays on the ODO) for just 25K because its owner had a flight to new york in 12 Hrs. See if no one picks up the bike and try to haggle your way through.
Hope this helps!

neither for not against the topic in discussion but wanted to clarify something.Originally posted by xionite View Postan R15 depreciates to less than 1 lac the moment the bike leaves the showroom.
Any value depriciates on percentage basis. A costlier thing depriciates more in absolute value than something cheaper than that. But the percentage of depreciation would be similar.
