  • Suzuki Shaolin or Yamaha RX

I have been offered to buy a Suzuki Shaolin for 9k and he says the rate is only for me otherwise it would easily go for 16k but I am confused because I have heard that the bike has improper documentation and it has many mechanical problems too but then the bike is worth it, 5 speed and even if I spend 6k on it for mechanical problems and cosmetics it has then to fine. Or should I search for Rx 100/135 any model but RX ! Iove the bike the charming beat and moreover the power it has and mileage would be better than my FZ atleast but then the price. How much do you think it would cost, a rough idea. A friend told me that for 12-18k I should comfortably get a 100 in proper condition and 135 for about 15-22k. I am a college student so budget is a little tight, I have collected 4k for the repairs and modifications and dad may buy me if I do well in the upcoming tests so fingers crossed. I dont really need it for commuting but as a collectible

If papers are not in place don't even go near it.

Out of the three you have mentioned, RX100 is the easiest to maintain because spares can be found.

I don't know about the rates, but since you say your budget is tight, pick up a right bike with engine & chasis intact.

But if you really ask me, it is better not to break your head with two-strokes.

You can get a very decent Rx100 for 15K, RX135 4 speed costs 35k. When it comes to Rx135 5s or RXZ they are too costly here in bangalore.

Shaolin is also a very good bike and easily modded, but the problem is the spares unavailability, it is very difficult to source Shaolin /shogun's parts.
If the papers are not clear please do not even imagine to go near those bikes, even it is offered to 2K.

If your budget is 10-13K then you can easily find Rx100 80's or early 90's model however you need to spend 4-5k for service.

I like two strokes man, really impressed with the speed they deliver and moreover all of these are discontinued so I wont find many of them everywhere though they are many Rx's around !
