  • FLYTE or Wego

    Hi Guys,
I want to buy gearless scooter. I short listed Access, Aviator and Flyte(or Rodeo). But waiting time for Access is three months and Honda is not any new booking. So I will have to select from Flyte and Wego. I have test driven both vehicle:
FLYTE: Very good suspension, Front fuel lid, good storage space, good pickup and top end speed. But I came to know through lots of posts on forum that it has bad mileage, poor ground clearance and poor resale value.

    On the other hand Wego:
Good look, Suspension is telescopic but not as good as flyte. Good pickup but top speed aroun 65 kmph.

Now I need your help If I buy flyte then I am fine with mileage around 40 but low ground clearance is not acceptable for me. So do you think it so bad that I should not consider it. Does rodeo has same mileage, ride quality, ground clearance & pickup like flyte? I can consider Rodeo if it add anything more than some funky things (charger or digital console).

for Wego I dont mind less top speed but ride quality I did not like.Ride quality was much better in flyte. But it can have good resale, am I correct?

I have service center of both vehicles near my home. So that should not matter.

Please help me to decide my first scooter.

    Thanks

Rodeo and Flyte share same chasis and engine. The only dissimilarity is in morphology. So, the the issues of ground clearance and poor mileage of Flyte are there in Rodeo too.

Who told you that the ride quality of Flyte is better than Wego? Wego has 12 inch alloys with slightly soft suspension which makes the Wego to ride lot better on undulations than Flyte.

The best choice would be the Wego; go for it.

          Thanks Ravi.

I personally test driven both vehicle and I felt that flyte's ride quality is better than wego or I should say suspension of flyte better than wego.

That's what my father also felt. Anyway I will do one more TD before booking one of them.

I have never rode a Flyte, but as far as Wego is concerned,it felt great.
Its quite a competitor to Honda Activa(minus the Honda reliability).i liked the pickup smoothness and ride-quality.it quite matches the Activa.
and why are you not considering Suzuki Access?(the best of them all)

I wonder why you have said so.. did you mean that the Wego has to prove its reliability over time? And its a bit early to comment on it.

Lately i am seeing a lot of Wegos out here. I am yet to test this scooter. Last time i rode a 110cc Activa ,it felt superb.

                @TS
Have you test ridden both the scooters. Because in the end it's you who has to live with the scooter so dont just go by magazines/reviews.

Flyte has soft suspension and it rides definitely better at lower speeds. The ride quality of Wego would get better when you increase the speeds.

Access has 3 months waiting + no booking for honda vehicle. Because of that I have to choose between these two vehicles.

Try the rodeo. It has got a relatively low waiting period & has got a lot of goodies which are not offered by any other scooter. Its a pure VFM.

Well,I am not saying any thing about the engines.
Just the plastic quality(switches),paint jobs of TVS are a bit of bit of concern.
I was only comparing with the Honda's.cant say the same about Mahindra's.
But Wego is definitely great to ride and I would have chosen Wego,if I had to choose between these two.
@r_b_i: I agree with 'chicane' .do listen to what your heart says and not the reviews.

                          booked wego

                          Hi Guys,
Finally I booked Wego. A black one. I will be getting delivery in this week.

Somehow I could not ignore low mileage problem of flyte and rodeo. I asked three users and all of them reported around 30-32. I have test driven these vehicle with pillion but I did not find ground clearance a big issue. But yes mileage a big -ve.

Wego I found smooth and stable on road at low and high speed. Weight seems definitely higher than flyte. But I agreed to compromised on that front.

                          Thank you guys.
