  • pulsar 180 now or wait for 2011?

    A happy diwali to all!

I have a simple doubt in my mind and I need suggestions from the xbhp community. I plan to buy a pulsar 180 next month. I have been reading on the speculations of a new pulsar which is going to be introduced in 2011 by bajaj.
Should I wait for the new pulsar which may or may not be in the 150-180 cc category of the current pulsars? There is an equally good chance of a high capacity pulsar to be introduced in our market as there is a chance of the current pulsar line-up to be refreshed.
The budget comes in the range of what a pulsar 180 may cost.

What do you all suggest? Will the wait be worthwhile or should I go ahead with the current 180?

    thanks

Go and purchase the bike you want. There are no official dates of new launches. So, IMO nothing to wait for.

buy the 180 and have fun with it.

Bajaj haven't announced any plans for any sort of upgrade yet.

obviously bajaj will launch new pulsar as they upgrade their bikes every 6-12 months....but i still recommend you to go for 180...it"s a nice bike...

When you wait till 2011, decide to buy the rumored bike & you'll hear some rumor that Bajaj is coming out with another bike in 6-7 months. So you'll again wait. This is a never-ending process. So my suggestion, you like a bike, go buy it! You can always upgrade later.

Looking at the current monthly sales of 70-95k Pulsars, I really dont think, Bajaj would go for any major overhaul....

                Go ahead buy your bike..
                2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
                2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
                2006 - Eterno (sold)

Going by upgrade frequency for Pulsars.. there were upgrades every 12-18 months. You can expect the same with current lot also.. but that will be a long time to wait!! so you can go for P180 now and later on upgrade it.

what more is left in pulsars to upgrade?

IMO the company should completely revamp entire pulsar range instead of making minor tickles here and there every few months, like this time they introduced new orange color.

get the bike, as of now no issues at all.

Atleast, they are improving the quality with every launch, no matter if it is a minor or major. That is way better than HH who only looks into fetching money by STICKER upgrades and term this upgrades as a revamp which IMO is not even a refreshed bike.

+1 to that...There is always a room for the improvement and bajaj follows it

If you wait like this your approximate wait period would be infinite because in pulsar language always next upgraded version is coming soon...

                            So gonna keep waiting
