Fine.. you called for it.. Had the bike for 1 year and 4.5 months .. did 21k km. Been loving it since.. and fell in love with it all over again yesterday!
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Well mine is 3.5 yrs old, and i love it. Oh and it has done it all, river crossings, mountain passes, desert sands and highway cruising.

                      Congrats blackrival!!!
                      Hope you enjoy the ride!
I would like to clarify one thing>
P220 will be your first bike so I am assuming that you don't have a lot of riding experience of smaller capacity bikes. So now when you get your bike you would ride normally(sane) for first few weeks and then gradually you will start ripping and after a while, say 3000km you will get the hang of it and won't find the power to be adequate forget "to powerful to handle". Atleast that is what happened to me. From a bicycle I got to P220-Fi(3 years back) initially I took it easy and with time I got the hang of it and finally I realised that it is actually slow, 10s, 0 to 100 is so long!
When I was a kid I thought of bikes accelerating from 0 to 100 in 3s(the litre class) which is what i think is fast.
The P220 is just another bike.
I find the P220 slow, and the rest of the bikes(smaller capacity ones like a snail!)
Ps> My bro/friends say that i am mad, but even the baby ninja is slow, 6s is too much.
                      Just my opinion.

Moral>First bike shouldn't be faster than the others around you, it sets a benchmark for other bikes.
In an s1000rr review, the reviewer said that it felt terribly slow in rain mode, although it is a fire breathing dragon in sport/slick mode.
