Yup, as you go higher, you keep wanting for more, and somewhere you find yourself not fully satisfied.... Anyhow, for 80-90kmph range, it feels sufficient... you get the best of both worlds - power and economy and reliability (a bonus worldOriginally posted by madengine View Postdear cyclone2kexact wat u hav thought is what i have done yesterday evening ,at about 6 pm i went in for unicorn test drive at a honda showroom .thanks to honda for its wonderful smooth engine, but i feel some where in higher speed ranges it lacks the kick (correct me if i'm wrong) .
with regard to apache it has a good low and mid range torque and also now in fuel injected apache's have some good high end toruqe . but i still doubt its grip with road thanks to tvs tyres its holds . hope it needs upgrade! and with regarding to petal discs at front makes me mad with punchier braking .brake em with carefullness else will throw u out ,improved rear disc helps reduce this to some extent .
thank u cyclone2k for u kind reply
) , for a li'l sacrifice of desires..
And, it is HONDA
!!!!
But, at the end of the day, it is the bike which suits your requirements, safety in the areas you travel, ease in availability of mechanics and spares in case of break-downs.
Choose wisely (not fancily) and do let us know, where you cash in....sigpic

@madengine
i guess the thunderbird twin spark costs around 1.05 lacs .. but i am not very sure .. its more fun in the hills than any other indian bike ... anyway the choice is yours only ... but i highly recommend it .. moreover once you get the kick of low rev ride on it in the hills you will start hating karizmas and pulsars ..i am saying this after owning a pulsar 180 .. and that friend of mine has already done some 5000 km on it .. no hitch till now ... :P.. i dont think you can expect this from a pulsar 200 or karizma ...... if you dont buy this then its all the way the mighty karizma ... but spares and proper serve may not be available in small towns ..

the old thunderbird with single spark is not that reliable .. thats what i have heard from my friends ... but this new one is very reliable... before this new engine came , can you imagine a RE engine running troublefree ? i didnt have this machine when i bought my pulsar 180.. had it been there other bikes would have been out of consideration... a couple of month back i toured shillong and cherapunjee which is around 700 km from my place . .. in the hills we used to ride at sppeds of around 70-80 km with xBhp Shillong guys .. after getting back home the engine had lots of issues ... Unicorn is no fun in the hills at all... i feel that these machines do not have any road presence.. dont even think about that .. you will regret later.. at least thats what i feel about it ...Originally posted by madengine View Posti had chance to ride royal enfield thunderbird of my neibhour but not sure whether twinspark but had an immense push and pull at low end

I am in love with the 220 and love takin it up the hills.. The Fi works brilliantly there.
Since u already have the 220, i would suggest the Karizma for its generous power and its comfortable riding position. Ofcourse, if knee scraping is what you have in mind.. it isnt the best fit.

i feel the same what u say , but i use my 220 for my home town usage and i cannot buy another 220 for use at my farm house . karizma i expel it out due to its dated design and technology , no one packs the goodies like bajaj does !!tnks for ur replyOriginally posted by Mik View PostI am in love with the 220 and love takin it up the hills.. UCE Engine wala Enfields are supposed to be better and umm...reliable
.cruising through hills of kerala in a bullet is so enjoyable.once you tasted ,never will leave the habit
.
AVL engine is used in old thunderbird and machismo.it easily gets heated.but apart from that ,I dont find anything particularly bad against it.it is still a enfield.
still Pulsar180/200 or 220 will win accoldes from all side.it is serviceable at Idukki also!.
