Hi xbhpians. I was not aware about this online bikers community even a few days ago..got it while googling about biking community in India. It is really a fabulous place to enrich knowledge on not only bikes but also photography, touring and lots of stuffs.
I would be glad if you help me outta my confusion choosing my first bike.
I am 5'6" and looking for a 125-150cc bikes which delivers enough comfort with satisfactory performance and also good mileage(approx. 50-52kmpl will do good). Budget 60k.
Three bikes I threw thoughts about are:
1st choice: Pulsar 135LS (good performance, superb top speed in own segment, but comfort level is not high due to hard seat but rear suspension is ok)
2nd choice: Yamaha Gladiator-now SS125 (excellent comfort, cushioned seat but pick up and pulling power in low speed is not that good)
3rd choice:Apache 160(outta budget...but there is always a bank beside you..but personally never drove one, everybody says about vibration problem and skidding tyres)

    So, what would you suggest?

Go for pulsar 135. Mix of both power and mileage.

There are a lot of threads with the same question. If you would read those then you can get a clarification on your query.

But if just mileage is your concern then hands down on the SS125 otherwise the P135. But i feel that the SS fulfils your needs.

stunner is also a good bike .....excellent mileage, comfortable, just little short on power...

i think you should not go for a bike lesser than 150 CC......

btw...u will be using the bike within city or on highways....?

Hi xoham welcome to Xbhp. Iam sure Unicorn can also be your option and would meet all your requirements. It is one of the best bike in 150cc segment for better FE, riding comfort and real value for money.

The rising fuel prices do change the opinion a lot of times.

                      Mostly in city.
And I don't like stunner,it coughs above 90kmph. Even Gladiator has better performance. I am worried about comfort level of Pulsar 135 on bad road.

The 125cc's are the way to go then. Select between gladiator & P135 if you want good mileage with no compromise in power.

Well, it's not very comfy if you ride more than 60 kms at a stretch. But I think you can cushion the seats if you want, someone has done it before for P135, I can't remember who.
BTW I get 58 kmpl inside city.
