  • Used r15?

    i am looking forward
    to buy a used r15. Its a 2008
model. It has run only 3500km
genuine i can say this coz i know
the owner. So can someone pls
tell me how much is it worth?

It would be worth a hefty sum! Not less than 70K I assume. Calculate 20% depreciation per year.

If genuine 3500 kms....and a known and trustworthy seller

you can pay him anything in the range of 70-80k depending upon your bargain...

On second thoughts, wait for 3-6 months till the time you can accrue 25-30ks and go for a brand new bike....

but dont you think it is as good as a brand new bike?
I just spoke to him n his asking price is 80k. One more thing, i am upgrading from cbz classic so will this upgrade be right for me. I rode this bike and it was just fabulous. He has also changed the rear tire to 130 section tubeless low profile which he says is of 3k. Will it b alright?
I am finding it a little difficult to convince my parents for this bike as they cant digest the fact that this 150cc bike costs 1.1lac on road. How do i convince them that this is a good deal? Any suggestions?

Ask him to keep that 130 section tyre with himself. Put the stock tyre back on&grab the bike if everything else is perfect.

130 section tyre should not be taken as attraction of this deal, actually its a con.
So first go and check the bike for
            1) Scratches,broken fairing,missing bolts ,Brake pads etc
            2) Servicing history,go to the showroom where it has been serviced and check for accident history.
            3) Papers clear,Insurance expired,Insurance claimed (sign of an accident or somethin).
            4) Take someone with you,who owns a aar pandrah.Take a test drive.

Something between 70-80 K will be your best deal.Don't go bully on the deal as 70-80K is a big amount, take your time, bargain ,have a thorough look and then finalize the deal.

            Cheers

i dont think that i should ask him to keep that tyre as it will be useless to him.

the bike is in near perfect condition and i have already taken a test ride of the bike. the owner is our family friend so i know that he has not abused his bike at all and all the papers are clear and the bike has never gone through any accidents.

i have given him an offer of 70K lets see what happens. i think it will be money well spent instead of buying a new p220/fazer. what do you people think?

                Thinks like this way

If you buy new R15 in you need to pay 1,10,000 +
But same used bike (with good condition) you will get around 75000 means you benifit 35,000/- On this amount you will buy good riding gears.

So, if bike condition is good then I would say 75,000 is a good deal.

My suggestion is to chuck the 130 profile tire and replace it with the stock sized tire. its not about looks alone but safety, cornering, handling etc. All that is compromised the second you plonk wider rubber on the R15.

I know quite a few R15 owners and they claim that the handling is seriously compromised if the tires are upgraded to a higher size.

Maybe the R15 owners can post their first hand experiences here?

If you feel that you have struck a good deal, go ahead and spend the remaining on some good riding gear... which is very important.

Thats why I said, if the tyre is anything other than stock, the whole character of the bike is lost.
If he has cut the swingarm to accomodate the fatter tyre, please bid adieu to the bike, no matter how well he has maintained it otherwise.
Other points have been mentioned already I think. Some minor scratches etc.will be there, you can get them touched up. If any parts are gone, please let us know&we will guide you on how much you need to spend, so that can be reduced from the buying amount.
I'm not sure about the warranty transfer, but if this is a 2008 make, you have just a few months left, so if warranty is non transferrable, please get it serviced&make claims, if any beforehand!

A 3500kms old R15 is still a virgin. Just go for it and Put the stock tyre back.

Going for a pre-worshiped bike you will also save you on Depreciation costs.

Either he would have removed the top chain cover or cut it on the RHS part-have a close look&enquire with him too.

                            Hi all..just wanted a piece of advice...i am getting a used R15(2008 model) @75k
I had a test drive, the chain was loose for which the owner said he will get it repaired..total run is 14k km

Also he had replaced the rear tire 100/80 with 100/90 - will it affect performance ?

I wanted to ask whether it is a good deal or not?
What else should i look out for in the bike to test it throughly before buying?
                            Also i m 6"feet and well built...will R15 suit me?

                              got my dream bike.

hey guys thanks a lot for your suggestions. i started this thread a few weeks back and finally i bought this bike. its a 2008 august model. the bike had run 3440 kms when i took the delivery yesterday.
the bike has new engine oil. i removed its saree guard as i dont like it.

guys i need your immediate help now.
1.as you all can see from the pics that the previous owner has put a 130 section tyre at the read and has put the stock rear tyre in the front. he has given me the stock front tyre which is new. he has not modified the swingarm or any thing. what should i do now? should i put the stock front tyre in the front and let the 130 section tyre be at the rear till it wears out?
2.in the 3rd pic you can see that the panel is broken. how much does it cost?
