Well friends i m going through your fantastic threads since last week and came to know a lot about many bikes. I wished to purchase a bike since a very long time but every time end up buying second hand bike as i could not arrange money for buying new one.
First i had tvs victor 115 cc which i kept for 1 year and learned how to ride a motor cycle.

Later on bought a 2007 model 150 cc Pulsar! it thrilled me so much but due to the problem of mileage ( i could not get more than 25 kms from it anyway

i kept it for 6 months but really liked the way it is ! infact i have rode cbz hunk and szx but the feeling pulsar gives is unmatcheable for me.
The reason why i sold pulsar was the behaviour of the first party who sold me that bike. He did not make me available the NOC from bank despite of several notications. At last i sold it off at throw way price of 21000

By the way i also bought it at the same price from him ! i know it is damn low ! i came to know it when people through on of the websites approached me for buying it for not less than 28000!!
Well that was past
Now after that i needed a machince which could solve my mileage problem along with great looks!
i am not a regular rider as the monthly usage of mine is not more than 200-300 kms. but due to sky touching prices of petrol it is a bit of concern for me.
I m also a fund concerned as my budget cannot cross 62000 in any case.
i visited show rooms of all the bike manufacturers and Negotiated a lot over the available prices. Yes friends you can really negotiate the prices witout affecting any delevry of the parts of accessories. Finally i end up conused between the following choices
1. PULSAR 135 LS for best buy at 59000 ( complete)
2.Top model HONDA TWISTER 110CC best buy at 56,000( complete with all parts accessories t.coatings etc etc
Please note that prices of honda have increased in delhi last sunday that is w.e.f 20.02.2011 otherwise the best price earlier was 55000 )
3. YAMAHA SZR 153CC best buy at 61000 ( excl extended warranty but including parts and accessories )
I test drived Pulsar 135LS and Honda twister. Could not get SZR as it is having a brand new awaited tag at the show rooms so have a long waiting. Everytime one gets in to show room it get sold instantleously.

Honda twister is a really good bike but i could not digest paying 56000 for a 110cc bike. The much avalaiblity of different colour options along with the MRF tubeless tires adds much of my attention for it. I also agree to the fact that if you are travelling on city roads this bike will attract more eye balls then rest of twos as it is really wonderfully created bird. The reason why i m for it are:
1. Different color availablity
2. Superiour mileage as i have heard people saying 75+ average in xbhp and real life too.
3. tubeless tires
4. honda service quality
5. 5 years or 72000 kms warranty for just 650 bucks extra
The reason why i feel against it are
1. ONLY 4 GEARS
2. 56000 for 110cc ? why not buy pulsar 135 at 3000 bucks more ?
3. i must agree that rear tire is thinner. And i feel safety is the first issue for delhi roads or roads of any part of india.
4. As per the experiances of XBHP members i noted that it have wiring issues, could cross 90 with so much difficulty and it gets rusted easily.
YAMAHA SZ-R is the another option !! the day i went and seen it at the nearest show room i was striken with the look of its petrol tank. It is awsome. I also loved its analog meter as well which i think is better than the digital one of pulsar 135. But when asked with the real experiances of people who had been awaiting for getting their bike services i was shocked to hear its mileage and power.
The reasons why i felt to consider this one is :
1. wow ! what a tank ?
2. Look at the meter bro ! awsome!
3. People say yamaha last longs ! well i dnt knw about this as i m novice for reliablity issues.
Reason being against it are
1. Both the mechanic and the owners of yamah SZR admitted that if u looking for 45 + mileage forget yamaha szr. It can hardly give 50 average if u never touch the needle with speed of 60+ mark.
2.Despite being a 153 cc bike having low bhps as compared to Pulsar 135LS.
I do not know why ? i think it is due to 4 valve dts-i techno in p135
3.IT DOES NOT HAVE A KICK START !! WHY YAAR ? is the self start of yamaha as reliable as a car ? i cant think of a bike without a kick start ! the reason being, i have own experiance with pulsar 150 and hunk that self start should not be the only relied upon ! the first start of the day should be with the kick and rest with self !
4. to have a kick along with this awsome tank machine is costing 3000 bucks more. that is to say if i need a bike with such a tank i need to pay 64000 but i will be left behind from pulsar 135 in top speed issues as well as mileage.
5. Tvs tires
Finally came the youngster and funky Pulsar 135 LS in red with new model of blck engine modified rear and half chain covered.
i laughed at it the very first time i had seen it ! reason being i thought that rajiv bajaj has made a machine with engine of pulsar, head lights of FZS, cowl of hunk and back sear rear of Apache RTR so that one should go for it.
People have reliablity issues with pulsar even i have it too as i had a 3 year old machine with 25kmpl tag

But XBHPians say that they are also getting 70 with it

i dont know much about that claim but when asked about the mileage power and other issues with one of my good mate who has 6 mnths old p135 he says that it is giving mileage of 55 with rough use ( 70-90 if roads permit )
the higest speed he touched was 115 on noida express way.
My cousin booked it today itself as i have made him to buy this one only
and he was strucken with the looks + mileage part of it. However i drove it first for 10 kms then handed over to him

The reason why i am thinking of p 135 as the best option among the 3 are
1.Complete blend of looks+power and mileage
2. Red colour of this machine took my heart away
3. the pick up is really awsome. I never rode any bike which can drive at such a pace with a pillon !
4. smooth engine performance. Infact on red lights i was checking it again and again if engine has gone off as it is that silent.
5. MRF ZAPPER rear tire and normal MRF front tire.
6 Value for money. At 59000 i am getting a machine with mileage and power. It have power which people say not in hunk or cbz as well . My p180 friend say he could only touch 110kmph mark till today after 2 years despite being a rash driver but XBHPians say they have already touched 124 with it with ease.

7. The feel of riding a pulsar is uncomparable as what i feel after riding different of other bikes

However still there are some reasons that i am feeling awkward to ask the reason should i buy it when i have already booked it with advance of 1000 bucks
1.10% people say bajaj is not reliable ! they say engine goes torned out ! mileage will deteriorate etc i dont know why still bajaj is selling like hot cakes ?
2. My own experiance of mileage of 25kmpl with bajaj pulsar 150cc 3 years old

3. Those who complaint that yaar itne paise daale to 150 cc le lete
how to explain them that this has 13.5 bhp against 12.1 bhp of yamaha 153cc ?
4. I personally feel bajaj services is not at par when compared with honda or yamaha !!
It is my humble request to all of you to please share your experiaces and guide this novice to buy the best machine. I have not mentioned above so mentioning my body build up as
Age : 22+
weight : 58-60 kgs
build up : Atheletic ( thin )
Height : 5.7 feets
i am also enclosing my pic along with the pics of the bikes at different showrooms so that you can have a further experiace of my craziness and confusion over this issue !
waiting for response
