Since your height is good, every bike will be comfortable for you.
Since you are using for commuting, the bike needs good mileage too.
A 150cc bike will be suit your needs more.
    Option are
    Pulsar 150,
    HH Cbz-xtreme, Hunk,
    Honda Unicorn Dazzler,
    Yamaha Sz-r,
    Suzuki Gs 150.

    Must try Dazzler once.

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs guys..parents overruled all options and in the end we went for the pulsar 135 LS. What is your opinion of the bike, since i've already bought it can you tell me the nitty gritty of the bike and how to make sure i get the best riding experience ..

Isn't the 135 a tad bit overpriced? However I've heard the bike is a decent performer. Looking forward to an ownership thread from you. What color did you pick? Not much difference in pricing for the 135 ls and P150 though.

Hey dude, If you can wait for some more time and collect some more money than R15 is the perfect bike, vice versa in case you are earning you can do a down payment and rest can go for a loan. AS R15 is bike designed for everything.

Thnx a lot for the advice..as i am 1-2 yrs away frm starting my own earning, i've compromised that i'll use the 135 as a stop gap. You can only imagine the surprise i got when i took the bike out of the showroom for a small test drive. It moves so effortlessly and the new engine mechanics make it sound effortless even in low speeds.

Hmm..overpriced?? Don't know about that, but its a joy to ride on the streets. I am refraining from ripping the bike just yet, as it still has been through the servicing. But i'll say this, it loves to rev!!! I took the red one.

Hopefully i'll start an ownership thread soon.

No, price differance is more than 8000 INR, P150 is not worth it! looks outdated, similar power, poorer fuel efficiency than P135LS.

P135LS has fresh feeling, its unique Pulsarian, its very torquey, light weight. Thats what youngsters crave for.

                    @ my place - P135LS = 55,500+Insurance+Registration+Lamination, P150 = 63,900+Insurance+Registration+Lamination.

Thanks for the info bro...What is this lamination you are talking about??? In my case the on road price was 63000. Did the showroom guys skip on something?? Please let me know.

My requirement out of the bike are

                          Unicorn

                          Please advise ...
I don't get you. You say you need atleast a bike that gives a mileage of 50kmpl but you have included the FZ.

If the mileage matters and that was a typo error, go with the Unicorn/Dazzler.

If the mileage doesn't matter, then you can probably go for the Apache, FZ, Karizma or the 220.

But please do test ride each and every bike and go for the one you are comfortable riding with.
RIP Marco Simoncelli! You will not be forgotten!

pulsar 150,unicon,and apache hyperedge will give you 50kmpl
you can go for apache hyperedge but you said roads are not good you will feel apache suspension a bit hard.
unicorn is good but looks is'nt that good the new unicorn dazzler looks good from back with wider tyre and rear disk but the head light and that bikini faring is weird.
now pulsar 150 its a nice bike but common every where .
i will suggest the new cbz x which will be coming shortly
its got a lots of new feature and fresh looks.and fully loaded at right place
and honda engine is so reliable.
