  • Need advice on used bike purchase

I am looking for a used bike . I came across an ad from a person , offering his 2008 december pulsar 180 dtsi bike for 45k.

I just checked his bike and noted the following things.

    1. Bike has clocked 16k Kms
    2. Tyres needs to replaced in another 2k kms.
    3. Engine condition is good.
    4. No scratches.
    5. Documents are proper and insurance valid till december 2011
    6. First owner

I finally offered him 43k as my final price. Guys what you say. I

First check all the service records in detail. Personally I suggest you not not buy bikes w/o correct/proper service records (up to date).

Hmm.. may be it's difficult to check service records, lot of people don't maintain all those. Get it checked with a trusted mechanic..he might give you an idea of any potential problems/maintenance on that bike.

why do the tyres need replacement at 18k km?maybe the guy is a stunter or his odo is displaying lesser mileage than the actual by virtue of speedo cable disconnection or the meter isnt working.my rx has done 22k kms and still rubber left for 10k in my view.

                  A little OT.

My Jiju is using his TVS Victor on stock TVS tires (I guess) for last 1,20,000 kms, yes 1 lakh 20 thousand kms

The rubber is completely worn out! No re-bore no change in any stock parts in his bike, the bike still starts in one kick!

                  Isn't that amazing?
