I am 6 foot 2 and 75 kg. I have a Discover 125 2004 model at my home town in Tamil Nadu. Here I ride my brother's Pulsar 150.
Almost all the bikes satisfy the fourth one. As for the other requirements, there are a lot of bikes. Me being attracted to technology found R15 to be impressive. People told me I ll get adjusted to the riding position soon and then it ll be very comfortable. I took my friend's R15 for a spin and I felt pretty comfortable. So finally decided to get it but then came the shocker. Petrol prices up by Rs. 5.
This made me add one more requirement and that is fuel efficiency of at least 45 in the highways at near three digit speeds. I am not sure how much more the petrol prices will increase but this is really worrying.
What bikes fit the requirements now?
As far as I know, a Pulsar 135, Joeled R15 and Suzuki GS150R. Bringing my Discover is also possible but that is very uncomfortable right from 80kph.
Suggestions please guys.
And oh, sorry for setting a question paper instead of asking a question

...I am confused !!
Go with GS150R as you can cruise at 80-90kmph and still get good mileage of 45-50kmpl in mixed conditions of B'lore conditions.

Just a few pointers to most here.
An engine has a certain volumetric efficiency. Crusing at 80kmph for a 100cc engine is pretty much licking its top-speed. With a 2-valve 150cc engine (like the GS150R) you are already maxing nearly 80% of the bike's full steam already, so fuel efficiency is not going to be great.
The R15 has an advanced 4-valve tech which makes it more efficient at higher revs and with my larger block and upgrades, enhances the volumetric efficiency. So cruising at 100kph all day will still make its far less stressed and offer class leading fuel efficiency.
I'm willing to challenge any 150cc stock bike v/s our 165cc R15 in fuel efficiency. Lets not even talk about performance.
Most of our fully souped R15's make more mileage than stock with some 5-7hp more. All clocking 0-100 in 8-9secs.
Even otherwise, the R15 is a nice street engine in stock itself and frankly is more efficient than its own street counterpart, the FZ-16.sigpic

Simple. With the increasing fuel costs, I wouldn't be surprised even if becomes 100 or 150 bucks in one or two years. I cant stop riding. In highways on the long ride, cruising below 85 is tough for me. So a cruising speed of 90 - 100 and top speed doesn't matter for me. Thanks for explaining Joel, now I am totally convinced. Thanks again. I had R15 in mind already but was confused because of the fuel prices. But the four valve stuff gives me more confidence on it and removes the other choices now. RTR 160 is the MOST FUEL EFFICIENT bike in India when cruising at a constant 100kmph on speedo. At that time, it will easily return 45 kmpl. (Personal experience)
Top-End is a decent 125kmph alongwith good low-end pull. The perfect city bike.
RTR 160 also is a very fun bike to ride anywhere in India. I know you have a much bigger budget, but this is what I felt I should suggest (since nobody else is).
The only issue is that of your height, it WILL feel small under you, but that is a non issue because so will the R15. Do take a test ride before deciding.
